I hope everyone enjoys them. I just posted book 2 today. I am going to continue writing but these two books are complete. I could keep editing and making them better but it's a fanfic haha.

If you've seen me post this before, it's come even further with more revisions and edits. I feel confident these are the final products but I'm going to keep refining as I write more.

You happen to know an artist who wants to draw cover art for a random fanfic, for free? I assume not.

lone kraken
#

try drawing it yourself

tight trail
#

No time for that in my life bud.

lone kraken
#

but you have time to write fanfiction?

tight trail
#

Different skill.

lone kraken
#

make more time then

#

because ai is pathetic

tight trail
#

Haters gonna hate. Always has been.

lone kraken
#

im not hating you im hating ai

#

i think using ai is sad

tight trail
#

I feel ya, but again. Drawing isn't a skill I have and I don't know an artist who is producing basically what I was looking for.

#

So it is what it is.

lone kraken
#

you cant learn a skill without trying it

tight trail
#

I spent my time learning a lot of other things in life.

I really like the style of zomboid but I don't know how to explain it to an AI

# tight trail Haters gonna hate. Always has been.

I actually think this is the best use case for AI. I am not a fan of AI, but this is how i think it should be used. It’s there to be a supportive resource in expanding someone’s “main focus” ie. if your “main focus” is being a writer and writing as much as possible, then using AI to provide the supportive resources (Cover, Mailing Lists, Publication). It provides the user more time to focus on their “main focus”. I think these covers look really cool and I think that you are using A.I. perfectly, even if I don’t like A.I. at all. I look forward to reading these.

tight trail
# lethal wharf what prompt you used to get this visual style?

I'm having a hard time reproducing those images specifically. You could give them to GPT or something and see if it can use them as a reference. This style prompt got me pretty close before i ran out of free uses.

Style: Photorealistic matte-finish paperback cover, circa 1970s–1980s genre fiction. Soft analog film grain throughout, fine and consistent, not chunky or digital. Warm color grade shifting from deep amber to bruised purple-violet. Gentle vignette darkening at all edges, fading naturally rather than as a hard border. Colors slightly desaturated and warm-shifted, as if the image has sat in indirect sunlight for decades. Clean rectangular frame, no rounded corners, no rust, no physical surface damage. The aging is photographic, not material: faded pigment, slight color bleed, the quality of a real photograph printed on matte paper that has yellowed with time. Golden-hour lighting, hazy, no harsh shadows.

We go by Build41 here

#

"Knox Country (formerly known as Knox County) is a partly real and partly fictional area where the events of Project Zomboid take place."

tight trail
#

I want you to read that back to yourself, real slow like.

brazen violet
#

It was Knox COUNTY in build 41

#

It was changed for 42 for some reason

tight trail
#

I provided a source and proved yourself wrong in your own text. I'm not trying to be rude but coming in hot and wrong.

#

You should google the for some reason.

brazen violet
#

I quoted the first line of that wiki page

tight trail
#

You'll find your answer

brazen violet
#

Why are we arguing over this bro

#

Just admit, Knox county makes more sense in a realism standpoint, but IS what is used in more recent updates

tight trail
#

Because you're being stubborn and I have nothing else to do.

brazen violet
#

I mean, county makes more sense

tight trail
#

Please go google where Knox County actually is

#

You're just flat wrong at this point hahaha

brazen violet
tight trail
#

Man you didnt look very hard

brazen violet
#

Knox County, Kentucky, USA. Right there. idk what else you want from me

tight trail
#

I don't want anything from you, but you're still wrong and at this point i just got home from work and you're entertaining me with how right you think you are but you're still wrong.

Alright, let me make my argument clear. So, in the fictional universe of Project Zomboid, the fictional place the game occurs in Luisville and Knox Country. This was originally Knox County before the map was scrapped and remade in 2013. In real life, there is no area in Kentucky called Knox Country, just Knox County.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knox_County,_Kentucky

Knox County is a county located in Appalachia near the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 30,193. Its county seat is Barbourville. The county is named for General Henry Knox. It is one of the few coal-producing counties in Kentucky that has not suffered massive population loss. Knox Count...

Alright and these are a fanfic within the Project Zomboid universe, so, Knox Country.

brazen violet
#

Yeah, sorry about mentioning that earlier. I haven't been active in the community for awhile and completely forgot it was changed

tight trail
#

Honestly a month ago I was in your shoe's. But I was less stubborn and did some googling and found out I was wrong in the context of the game and had to rename everything to Country.

#

So I get it

brazen violet
#

Honestly, I would have just left it lol

coral creek
#

the map is up top and this actual county is down low

brazen violet
#

I am aware

#

But it is based of Knox county

coral creek
#

i dont think the zomboid map has anything to do with that area

brazen violet
#

It's named after it and it's proximity to Fort Knox. Really the locations in game match up more to Hardin County

#

Which contains the real world West Point and Mauldraugh

coral creek
#

dont get me wrong im not trying to disprove you i just think the evidence was kinda bad. but here is where zomboid takes place, way up north

#

so i think you see what im saying here right?

brazen violet
#

Yeah, that's where some of the locations are, and then, y'know the rest are all fictional and sprinkled in

coral creek
brazen violet
#

If I'm correct in build 41, the only locations that are real are the three you see there, West Point, Muldraugh, and Luiswille

coral creek
#

i think one of the fictional ones is fallas lake for sure

brazen violet
#

Oh, I forgot Rosewood was real too
