Delete the media/lua folder in your game install location, then verify your game files
Make sure the server is also up to date
already done, doesn't work.
I didn't try yet, I'll keep you informed
Yes someone joined the server 4 hours ago. I'm trying to re-update the server to the latest unstable patch for now, but it seems not to launch properly
I've had the same issue, but not with myself. Everyone else in my server can't seem to join in. All having the same pop-up as this. I have it hosted from a website.
Same on other vanilla servers. I've usubscribed from ever mods as well just to be sure
it was working for me and some people since the last update, but not today for some reason
I have almost a dozen people trying to get in. I was forced to update the server and now nobody can join in. Seems a bit unfair and suspicious since I'm the only one able to join in 🤣
I'm not even allowed myself on my own server 🥲
Means the server is the one having issues, likely not updated correctly
I suggest you wipe the server install files, excluding the saves etc, then reinstall it
That was me last update. I couldn't join my server but everyone else was fine.
I'm keeping my notifications on for this thread. If I find anything I'll be sure to follow up here.
Yeah but I'm able to join in. If the server was having issues, I wouldn't be able to join, right?
So, i just re-updated to the latest patch and now it seems to work
No, because you are an admin
Admins are exempt from checksums
No. Shit? I figured it was to do with admin but I can't figure how permissions would work around this "file" issue
I just have to find a way to get everyone in without making everyone an admin lol
But this is strange : It was working since the last security update. I made a new install server from scratch and was able to play with other people for the past days without major problems. This one appeared only today for me and I didn't change anything
Very weird. I'm reinstalling the update again. Maybe it was a fluke? If yours runs right maybe mine just needed a few reinstalling to get it moving again?
That's what worked for me rn
Reinstall the server as I said
Update server, yeah
This is the second time this problem has occurred in the last week. Developers, please stop.
It is not a problem caused by developers, you just need to update your server after the game updates
That is all
Apparently there is another update today?? No patch notes??
nm, I guess Discord is just not lighting up the news_discussion channel anymore
edit: NM That's just general banter and not actual info
I had the same problem a few days ago. Updating didn't fix the problem to me, I had to dislable luachecksum. Since I play coop I shouldn't have problem with it, but if you host a more general server luachecksum is a tool to prevent cheating
To do that you need to edit the ini files, and edit DoLuaChecksum=true->DoLuaChecksum=false
Disabling the checksum just ignores the issue, you should never disable it
The problem is simply an update issue, if updating didn't fix it, then the update wasn't done correctly
You should reinstall the server and SteamCMD itself to make sure the update process isn't cached by it and causing issues
Then reinstall
