not wearing shoes seems to stop it from happening but with shoes it happens all the time ive seen it occur on both B41 and B42 so it just has to be something on my end and ive played the game for awhile and never remember this happening until playing again this year

i actually think i may have found the root cause it might be an issue connect to fps

#

B42 runs better than B41 so it happens more often but when i turn my game up to 240 it happens all the time but right now at 60 im struggling to make it happen again it seems the highest i can go is 144 but if i do 165 the sliding starts to occur a bunch again

Is perhaps your CPU overloaded or anything else reaching that FPS?

My CPU seems to be fine I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and the issue only happens in Zomboid from what I can tell I’ve never seen it in other games where my FPS goes past that safe area I found

Could you test what other situations cause it? Does it happen in Windowed mode, Borderless, Fullscreen?

It seems to be in all settings I’ve tried windowed, borderless, and full, I’ve also tried Vsync on and off, HDR on and off, tweaking display settings in the game like texture compression and all that, and it always returns

#

I’ve also tried completely different input devices but all my keyboards do it however a controller prevents it from happening

Hm, can you also try doing a full reinstall? There have been some specific weird issues caused by Steam leaving leftover files after updates, a full reinstall fixed a lot of those weird issues.

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

I’ll give it a try in a moment and get back to u

Hm, not sure I can help much as this is the first and only case of this happening that I can see

#

Did you try disabling any background apps?

fast relic
#

No I haven’t I’m not sure of what I would need to disable and yeah I only found 1 case of it when I looked it up online and no one ever replied to the person about it and another person replied to a post I made on Reddit about it saying they have it too so it seems extremely rare

ive discovered something interesting, it seems the issue returns whenever im high exertion paired with multiple other moodles even with the fix i discovered of setting my game to 144fps as soon as i hit it the sliding occurs again but whenever i rest and try again it no longer happens
