PZ on Macbook

Hi! I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I'm wondering if I can play Project Zomboid on my Mac normally. Like can I just buy the game on steam and open it normally on my mac or do I have to use something like an app? I see websties and ppl on reddit saying that I can just play the game nativley but im not sure. Can anyone help?

at most you'll prob need to use proton which is built in steam but im not 100% sure bout this but mac and linux are very similiar and zomboid run fine on native linux (no proton) so should run fine but if it doesnt just use proton

(proton just runs the game as if it windows)

that depends more on the specs of the mac ive never personally used it on mac very much but i dont see why it wouldnt run fine

zomboid isnt hard to get running tbh

but u can try the game if it doesnt work just return it as long as it below 2 hours playtime and within i think 10ish days

It will run fine if you run the latest Unstable beta version, that version is native to M4 Macs, you have to opt into it though

I play 1080p with skyboxes off, and always limit FPS to 60. My MacBook newer heats

i got the game what are your graphics settings? because the screen was too big or small and the cursor wasn’t working properly and my mac was overheating
