im trying to play with my friend before todays security update i could start the legacy version of 41 but now its just blackscreen and doesnt respond. i tried uninstall and reinstall and dont have any mods
i searched on google and it told me to delete my mods file but that didnt work and now i dont have a mod file pls help

In that case, to rule out any leftover file issues, can you try doing a full reinstall?
First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

Try going to your Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -cachedir=C:\Zomboid > Start the game using the normal launcher
