#How do you make mods work on a hosted server
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Make sure you add them to the Mods and Steam Workshop sections
I did
In the server settings correct
Yes, can you share your logs.zip file found in %UserProfile%\Zomboid?
How do I get there
Yes please
Or is a video more helpful?

The User folder on Windows 10 is a folder created specifically for each user account that is configured on a Windows 10 system. The folder houses important library folders such as Documents, Pictures, and Downloads, and it also houses the Desktop folder. It’s also where the AppData folder resides. You can open the User Profile folder easily en...
So you can follow along
Lemme try that
I found the zomboid thing in the user folder
How do I get logs.zip file
ohhh I can’t even send it then I’m on mobile
I can’t get discord on this computer
Could you tell me what to do maybe
I am not sure I follow, Discord is just a website
Are you unable to open a web browser on this PC?
I’m borrowing a computer from someone that’s why
But you are running the game and Steam on this borrowed PC?
Yea
Like she lent me it to play the game that’s why 😅
So we’re tryna set up the mods
Try screenshotting the Mods and Steam workshop sections in the server settings in that case
And also the menu when you press "Host"
So I can see what settings are selected
Is this all good
Yes, but you didnt send the host menu
I was waiting on it
How do you get to the host menu
Like every single setting or?
Main Menu > Host button
That is all, its how you accessed the settings in the first place
Everything seems fine here, how are you testing whether the mods work or not?
I’m at the location for the map mods in game and they don’t appear there such as travellier motel
And when I load in I hit the mods at the bottom right of the menu when in game and the vehicle mods aren’t there
Just the vehicle mods or no mods?
enabling mods does not enable spawns
You have to manually add them in the Spawn Regions setting
Okay so
The vehicle mods don’t
Some work
They are in spawn regions as well but don’t appear in game
I’ve been to where they are supposed to to be
If only some mods work and others do not, you would likely have conflicts with them
Check if the mods you enabled are actually up to date to your current game version
How should I do that
If you are enabling map mods, make sure they are loaded above Muldraugh in the Maps
They are
Check the Workshop page of the mods, but I would suggest asking for mod specific info in #mod_support
Since it looks like the server itself works fine and loads mods correctly
So you are just dealing with mod problems
Yea the map and vehicle mods
K15 vehicles and the maps aren’t in game even when loaded properly
@real badger I did generate the chunks though before putting them above muldraugh
I just fixed the map mods omg 😭
I think the vehicle mods aren’t updated idk
Why they won’t work
Not sure, which mods do not work exactly? Some mods have additional requirements on their Workshop page
Mainly vehicle mods from what I can see, I have all the requirements tho I just may be installing wrong
Do I need to go into my hosted settings and add workshop as well or do I gotta go into game files idk @real badger
Mods need to be enabled in the Steam Workshop and Mods sections in the server settings
Yea they are enabled in server settings as well, wdym enabled in steam workshop though
I subscribed to them in steam workshop
No could you show where if possible
Ahh I gotta make sure every single one is active there too?
If it doesn’t work I just don’t think they are updated
It also says there’s an error when I load in how do I check that
Errors are logged in the %UserProfile%\Zomboid folder in the console.txt file
Is there an easy way to get there
Press Windows + R and write %UserProfile%\Zomboid
