Then it gets stuck on a number out of 171 and shows no progress. Can't abort cos Beardz says its breaks the game so? What now?
In the process of having to alt-F4 out of the game and reinstalling all of these workshop mods and see if that works, More suggestions will be appreciated

Delete this mod and see if it launches...
It might hang up on a different mod tho, probably another KI5 vehicle.
If you have this car in a mod pack too, that could be your issue.
Btw that car is a B41 mod that hasn't been updated in ~5 years...
Not surprised it doesn't work on B42.15.2
What's weird is this mod was working on my last build 42 playthrough with friends, weird how it's having problems now
Mods have a funny way of breaking in many different ways...
Everything could look fine and function correctly in game but in the background things are a mess lol
Next thing you know the mod fails to save correctly and corrupts your save in unpredictable ways.
Still getting it ;( I think the latest 42 broke a lot of essential mods we use so we can't play anymore. As if the game is bricked. Thanks for the help anyways.
This is also contradicting, I am supposed to abort and start again? Doing so causes errors which results in having to delete the steamapps folder to resolve it.

tbh i can't tell you exactly why it's failing to update those mods...
but that mod specifically is a map mod. they are notorious for having issues...
if i were you id sort thru your whole mod list and ditch everything that isn't essential.
and be sure you install every mod correctly.
enable them in batches or one at a time to test them and see if they function correctly.

copy your save somewhere if you care to keep it then delete your whole Zomboid folder...
then reinstall the game

sry lol alot of trouble shooting is just doing the same thing over and over until it works lol

You're fine, it's frustrating.
I have been doing everything I've been told. Sorting bad outdated mods, redownloading the entire game multiple times, runs fine on vanilla.
Btw i've done this before on previous B42 verions and always managed to troubleshoot and find the problem but when coming back after a couple months and I can't figure out why this game won't play anymore its very demoralizing
if it runs fine with no mods then try this...
enable half of your mods, try to launch the server...
if it fails you know at least one mod in that batch is bad.
cut that batch in half see if it loads.
rinse and repeat until it loads.
using this method you can pretty quickly find/eliminate outdated/bad mods
if you have a bunch of bad mods this could still take a while but its still faster then 1 at a time
i would still cut out any non essential mods first... maps/gameplay overhauls/extra traits/skills tend to have the most issues
Having a weird bug where the game unloads some mods in the select mods page when editing server. Weird...

that mod might help if you dont have it already...
it just gives you a quicker way of seeing stack traces
I do, I think it lies a lot
Used in back in B41 and it lied a lot lol so I take it with a grain of salt
lol well nothing is perfect but it helps sometimes if you dont want to dig thru ur logs for 1 error

do you mean you check the box, click save, back out and return to the mods page and find them unchecked?

ive just been assuming you checked your load order...
if they conflict it might tell you there but it also might not tell you... they could just quietly hate each other but still technically function together lol
ahh and yes, i would start with correcting any error(s) the errorMagnifier points out first

a mod like common sense has alot of moving parts so its hard to predict how it will behave with frequent version updates...
Still getting that disabling checkbox thing when editing, kinda freaking me out

idk If they need to be check boxed? I mean its in the workshop list so ig it's already enabled..?
so technically you dont need any mod enabled at the main menu unless you are using them in sp...
as long as the mods are listed in the server settings and in the workshop window then they will load when the server does
but... at the main menu you can pretty easily see conflicts and create load order presets
some of the mods it keeps unchecking which as you can see is necessary
check all the boxes then look in the load order...
are any mods red?
if so order them correctly, or click autosort

i would ditch any map mods, explore the new towns that b42 added lol
Already did in previous playthroughs is the thing, they haven't added much imo vanilla wise

id ditch common sense, mostly from the reports ive seen and cause i know it touches alot of systems... a mod like that is good when things are stable, but rn... lol

i try to only get mods that do specific predictable things...
ill play till i find something i want to change, then i look for a mod for that specific thing then i see if it works... at least for now...
with so many updates recently and so many systems being touched it leads to situations where mods are fighting against official updates
let the devs get to a stable point... then worry about overhauling the whole system lol
Wish the dev team expanded so we can get things faster and smoother, Kinda feels like a worse bethesda rn at this state no offense to Indie Stone but a lot of improvements are needed...like...a lot!!

btw, after a recent update it took me all day to realize it was an ammo crafting mod that was preventing my dedicated server from launching...
chased errors all day until i finally ditched that mod, knew it had an error but didn't think it would prevent the server from loading...
apparently so lol
oh wow that has to be infuriating
finally did the whole cutting the mod list in half multiple times till i realized it was that mod specifically
So things seem to work fine but I get a lot of stuttering and sometimes crashes when trying to boot up my save
