#Dedicated Server crashed out of nowhere and the players that were online lost their characters

By the way, almost no one is capable of connecting without selecting Steam Relay option, I wonder why that happens too, they get stuck in downloading map data and the server kicks them
Could you explain how youre running the world on the hardware server?
Docker? Directly on the linux machine?
And what game version are you running
Directly on the Linux machine, latest version
B42.15.2
did it crash the machine or just the game?
How much RAM did you allocate to the game instance?
Like it used more than the 14 gigs
drop that to 12gb as absolute max
Linux needs 0.5-2.0gb as an OS to run
and the rest of a server OS needs about 2gb to broker the other functions
realistically you should not allocate more than 50% of your available system memory to a single application
Yeah, I believe that Steam was using 1 GB of RAM and PZ server exceeded the 14 GB limit
Since it's the only thing I can't monitor in Google Cloud Panel I believe it must have been that
try limiting the server to 10gb then
CPU never reaches over 50% usage
leaves you 6gb for the OS and other functions
?
Was only theirs, I connected and I was alive and other friends too, just the 2 friends that were online at the time
that depends on the save timelines you have established
its in the worldname.ini file
listed as "SaveWorldEveryMinutes"
if you have it at a very high time, then the rollback on crash is pretty aggressive
odd
Or well, not dead but game forced them to create new characters
I guess the crash damaged the db file
Anyways, was good that it crashed the first day lol, if this happened onto a week of gameplay they wouldn't play again XD
Any other recommendations that you have for me? For example, some people only can connect thru Steam Relay
I can do it without using Steam Relay but I have extremely good ping to the server(20-30ms)
It may be an issue of where they are in relation to the server
