#Every single mod update bricks my server…

Hey all,

Before the flurry of “well don’t play with mods then” comments come in - just note that I don’t care.

We have 42.15.1 server that is running the HellDrinx Full modpack - and the problem we’re running into is that every time one of us goes to connect, one of the 400 mods has updated and we cannot join due to the workshop version error.

Easy fix right? Just reload the server and let the mods update? Nope. We rebooted it and the error persists. This means that every day, multiple times a day, we have to delete the entire workshop folder and start the server. After around 60 minutes of startup downloads, we can play for a few hours - but by then another mod had an update and we rinse and repeat.

Is there any way around this? We would go back to B41 but we simply don’t feel like it.

Just repack all the mods into your own modpack, post it to the Workshop, and set the visibility to "Unlisted" (link only).

U absolutely should not be having to download the entire set again,
Idk what service or method is being used but I have 350ish mods since 42.14.1 on steam cmd dedi server and if there's an update scenario we just reboot and let it dl the few or one that has updated then we're back

This mod could help...

It automatically detects mod updates and shuts down your server for you...

Pair it with a script that restarts your server and you'll never have to manually update mods again...

And just a tip, maybe cut that mod list down a little bit. 400 seems a little excessive considering you need to be sure all 400 mods are updated and compatible each other and compatible with your version after every game update.

Somehow I don't believe you need all 400 of those mods, and I'd bet like half of them aren't even updated to the latest version...
