Simple as, the game shows no error messages, just crashes back to desktop, tried joining my boyfriend, the game crashed basically as soon as I connected, I tried joining a random server to troubleshoot and it had the same behavior. We're on the unstable branch.

Can you share your logs.zip file found in %UserProfile%\Zomboid?
And can you share all “hs_err_pid” files found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?

Yeah, I'm gonna do that later today!

Here, should have everthing you asked for.

Hm, these are several different crash errors.. though we can try from the simplest one and see if that fixes it overall

#

Try going to your Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -novoip > Start the game
If that does not help, can you try typing -nosound instead? This is to check if it is a sound related issue.

okay, let me see

#

it worked!

#

so, i guess i can't use voice chat?

astral parcel
#

And NOPE, it didn't work.

#

I now crashed when I was gonna spawn.

the -nosound fixed it.

astral parcel
#

so, do i really have to play without sound now or..?

# astral parcel the -nosound fixed it.

That points us to some of your sound devices causing issues, what sort of audio hardware do you have?
And can you make sure all of the hardware is set to us 44 100hz or 48 000hz sampling rate? Other values are not supported.

Huh, okay, I'll do that later. I just have a headset and desk mic.

astral parcel
#

Well, it worked.

#

So weird that I have to do that in order to play normally.

Basically all sound devices are 44 100hz or 48 000hz already. Only some very specific ones set it higher, and some users also manually set it higher.

#

So most people do not need to do this
