Can't make myself admin on Steam co-op server. (FIXED) Fix posted in thread

Hello survivors ! i am new on the server and hope i am doing this right. Since the 42.15 patch i can not make myself admin on my steam co-op server anymore. Reason the game gives: 'user with this name already excists'. I did try google for hours, tried opening the player.DB file,got it to open but can not find the is admin part. Re-installed game, deleted and re-added character, tried all commands ingame and that did all noit work. the only way i can be admin, is when i change my Steam name. Hopefully somebody here knows more and can guide me to how to fix this/Where to find the right file's to make myself admin again. Thanks in advance. keep on surviving ! 😄

is is coop or hosted on you're PC ?
if hosted try /setaccesslevel "name" admin if coop try -debug on the startup command

I eventually found the right folder! i got it to work for now 🙂 thanks for your reply !

If it doesn't make it difficult, can you tell me what you did to fix it? I have the same situation. Although before that everything was fine

2 fixes i found: Change your steam name, which is not the best way, since you need new name XD. Option 2: I used the software DB Browser by sql cipher to open the yourservername.db file. this file for me, was on disc C:\Users\yourusername\Zomboid in there i found a folder called DB and in there was my servername.db file. opened the file, went to the Whitelist tab(Screenshot) and saw the game had changed the capital L from my name Lupyfur to a normal l. So i changed it back to match my steam name. and it worked ! be careful though always backup those files before changing anything. Added a screenshot of DB browser and where to find the Whitelist section. Hopefully this will help you fix it !
