Mine is currently running fine with -Xmx12g set in Steam's launch options I'd verify integrity and try again in case something is bugged up with the launcher.

Reverifying only redownloads the two modified bat/json files

Have you checked the console to see that the option is taking effect and is there a specific format in the launch options?

Yes, my launch options are taking effect. The only launch option I have set in steam currently is -Xmx6g exactly as written.
