#GPU useage.

Yeah, hmm. Zen 2, quad core. Ultra-low TDP, only 15W.
Yeah, PZ does say it requires a dedicated GPU. Ironically, desktop Ryzen 5600G has such a powerful iGPU on the CPU that it should be more than enough to run PZ, but...
You probably don't have a separate dedicated GPU on it?
You could install GPU-Z to check, but I doubt it

I have no idea what those words mean
Does that mean I can get a better graphics thingy?
You can google it, and it's the first link by techpowerup.com, who made it.
So yes?
No, it's a GPU information utility program
If you know the exact model of you laptop, I could google that too
Yes, Acer is a brand but that's not an exact model :D
Actually I need to update my GPU-Z too
I can't post a direct link here, that is not allowed
Oh okay.
but just click the download link and select your mirror
mirror?
A mirror is basically a download hosting server
I might take it in and ask them about it probably.
I went with UK-1 cause it's near me and zero load
I see.
But I also have an iGPU on my i5 12600K
Yep, looks like it has no dedicated GPU and the iGPU is too weak to run PZ

Unfortunately, your laptop doesn't meet the minimum system requirements
what is your gpu
can you try running the game in alternative mode?
it doesn't, it runs the game in a different rendering software
Would that lower GPU usage?
what exactly is the problem you are having?
gpu usage is not related
it's normal if it's a 100%
It closes when it says it doesn't have enough GPU.
is it a message from the game or from windows itself
The game, like a windows crash message appears or smth
I can try the alternitive lanuch
try it, and if it happens again screenshot the message
and send it
to me
Um, windows system sent a message or whatever when I launched in alternitive.
Is that normal?
what does it say
Windows system command with a bunch of random stuff on it like file names and such
No errors and so on,
Now it's going through my mods.
System command.
it's project zomboid itself
that's normal
did it launch?
if you close it you close the game
no
it doesn't affect your mods
Sweet.
it simply just runs the game off of an alternative rendering software
won't mess up anything but if it didn't work then just use the default one
but if you could tell me what your gpu is i may help
Where can I find it?
type advanced display in your windows search bar
and click on view adapter properties for "your display name"
and screenshot what it says
screenshot the adapter type
should be at the top
so i know the gpu's name
i don't know what that is
to be honest
this is strange
?
i will assume you have a ryzen cpu which most of them come with a good igpu
could you run the game and try to reproduce the error again? and when it does please screenshot it
Alright, I will see if I run into it in Alternitive launch
project zomboid isn't that demanding of a game
I see.
if alternative doesn't work you can just use the default
I might use default and see what happens.
yes but please screenshot the error message
My windows froze, then the game closed.
do you know the name of your laptop model?
it could really be that bad
it's usually written on the bottom of your laptop
where your battery is
i am asking because i want to check it's specifications
alr.
i checked the specs and it's strange because that laptop is enough to run project zomboid
Odd.
I can take it in on friday probably and ask some questions
Should still be under warrenty
do you have any mods enabled perchance?
does the game even load
the main menu
Yes and yes
could you try disabling all mods and play the game normally?
I mean, I could try. Been a long time since I played vanilla.
you should see if the issue happens
She has an Acer Aspire AG15-21P. It doesn't have a dedicated GPU, and the CPU & iGPU are very low-powered, 15W TDP. That's the issue and why Windows gives that error message.
