Started as a fix for vanilla armor discomfort, then expanded into a broader rework of protective gear once I realized the system only really makes sense when treated holistically.
Protective gear now affects endurance drain, muscle strain, breathing restriction, heat buildup, and sleep recovery through vanilla systems. It also rebalances speed modifiers, fixes layering conflicts, and works with most modded clothing/armor.
The goal was to make protective gear feel like a tactical choice, with real physical tradeoffs instead of a flat mood penalty.
Safe to add to existing saves.
GitHub includes full source plus the benchmark/tooling I used to calibrate the system, which is not included in the Workshop build.
