#Strange jittering while driving (not the typical driving lag) B41

I noticed lately that I have this strange jittering effect that only happens when driving. It doesn't matter how far in/out I am zoomed (all zoom levels selected). I don't remember it doing that in the past.

It's not the typical lag caused by driving in multiplayer, and I tested this in a solo game. The best I can describe it is a 1 inch horizontal line that vibrates when the car moves. If I zoom out more, the jittering seems to cover more area, but it moves up or down the screen depending on the direction the car is driving.

Oddly, I just tried recording a screenshot as an example, but the recording looks perfectly fine. I guess I'm only seeing the stutter in game.

I disabled all mods and it still happens. I did tweak some graphic settings a while back, both in game and via Nvidia control panel. They were suggestions given online. My player side RAM is -Xmx8192m & -Xms2048m (32g RAM).

I feel like this is more of a graphics setting on my end than a fault of the game. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Do you have a recording of the issue perhaps? Do you have Vsync? Gsync?

I figured it out.

My recordings looked perfectly fine. So that made me wonder if it was a PC/Monitor issue due to upgrading my monitor a few months ago. Sure enough, I found out Windows 11 had my monitor set at 60hz when it should be 240hz. My PZ settings were 240hz from when I was using my old monitor.

Changing that in Windows seems to have fixed the issue.

I keep Vsync off but Gsync on. Is that good for PZ?

I use Gsync myself, its fine for PZ yes. Though I personally pair it with the DXGI Swapchain setting, since that is supposed to make it work a bit better for OpenGL apps like PZ

#

Your experience with it might vary

Oh interesting. I'll give that a try. Thanks man.

Would you mind sharing your Nvidia settings for PZ? I have a pretty high end rig, but I'm wondering if my settings are not the greatest for PZ. I pretty much just set Low Latency Mode = Ultra, Power Management Mode = Prefer maximum performance, and turned Vsync off.

Global + PZ ones

#

Maximum performance will give you the lowest latency for sure, I just prefer it optimal to not push my GPU when it doesnt need to

#

If you have Gsync enabled, you should force Vsync on globally in Nvidia

#

Since Gsync works together with it

#

But you should have it turned off in game settings
