file doesnt match the one on server

as the title states i get an error saying i have a file that doesnt match the on on the server. pic is related to the issue. it kicks me from the game completely and sends me back to the desktop.

if yu can follow the file path and delete it, it can let you in, or unsubbing from all mods then joining naturally.

already cleared it after deleting and tried twice so far since deleting it

any other suggestions?

I had one person on my server encounter it, unsure if the fix was uninstalling all mods. But could be related to trait updates from TIS from last patch notes.

Means its a problem with the client install or the server install

For client issues, delete the folder in the error message, then verify the game files

For server problems, wipe the server files and reinstall them with SteamCMD

So I tested it with my girlfriends account just to be sure it wasn’t an issue with my account or pc and she got the same issue and message. Would I need to wipe the server files then? And would this mean having to do a fresh start on our server like getting rid of the current world and characters from our b42.13 world?

for a server im on the issue just had to do with the server not being updated with hotfix

No, you only wipe the install files, not the server configs / saves in the User/Zomboid folder

App files are separate from the configs applications use

so i deleted the server file install and redownloaded it from steam cmd using the app_update 380870 validate thing but it still gave me the same error

i also verified that its working on the most recent patch

I deleted the entire “project zomboid dedicated server” file and redownloaded it using the steam cmd

Was I supposed to delete something else?

No that would be correct, in which case it is likely the problem is on the client rather than on the server. Can you delete the folder shown in the error message from your game install as mentioned before? Then verify the game files.
