#B42.14.1 MP Crash - File Doesn't Exist On Client (w/ 2 fixes)

Error triggered when logging into MP server. Game crashes and have to restart. Error Repeats unless (hack) fix is implemented (see below)
The Situation

  • Currently Unmodified B42.14.1 server
  • Currently Unmodified B42.14.1 client
  • Both server and client were previously running B42.12, and were updated via steamcmd
  • Error and crash happens when logging as player with "User" level access
  • Logging in as Admin does NOT trigger the error

**FIX **

  1. log into your server consol and save a backup (playerdb, pzserver save folder, and configs).
  2. hard wipe the server (basically complete uninstall )
  3. reinstall server from scratch
  4. uninstall and reinstall PZ on client
  5. upload backup saves, ini configs, and playerdb
  6. relaunch server...

this seems to work consistently...

We did - but "update" vs. full server wipe and removal of all files to a clean directory and then reinstall from zero is not quite the same thing. Our host has "update" Option that uses steamcmd... and it does a bad job of removing old files... which causes the issue.
