I figured it was a mod problem because I decided to load up a game with no mods and I could read books/magazines.
But I'll do as you said and try to look for the mod issue.

Yeah, I do. I'll try uninstall it and see if it works.
Yeah, the cleanui mod is the issue. I've just uninstalled it and now I can read again. I'll report it to the mod creator soon
