I am trying to transfer a server I hosted to a dedicated server. I have my linux dedicated server set up and working, but no matter what I do, if I import the server.ini and the save file, it will still make a completely new save and a new character for me. My character still has their faction tag, however the world is different and it is a new character. I can't seem to get it to use the world I am importing. Anyone know a fix? Build 41.

Did you specifically follow this guide?
I followed the guide, however, the world was still changed
My player data saved though
I was able to log on just now with my character in the same spot I logged off at last
And all my stuff
However the surrounding map was completely reset
The only possible causes I can think of are:
Its a windows host game transferring to a linux server
I changed the name of the save and the ini, but i made sure to modify player.db (hence why my character loaded), however I mightve missed some specific files I had to change? (the guide didnt really specify too much about changing the name).
Servers should work on both Windows and Linux. Did you make sure the server names match up on both of them? With the -servername parameter?
If yes, can you share the server-console.txt file from the Zomboid folder so I can check the logs for any problems?
I just went back in, changed the name of the dedicated server to match the old host so I didn't have to modify any files. Still, the world doesn't load. Character still loads with all gear and standing in the same place though. Heres my server-console.
I just looked into it, and it looks like my save file increased in size? On my host world, it has 137 items, on the server, its showing 885 files now
