Why does it suddenly not work when I try to boot up a solo run?

My game suddenly broke or something. I tried it with mods which always works (I always use the same mods) then I tried without mods to no avail.

And yes, I already verified the integrity of my files.

i then i installed a patch that was made not too long ago

yeah its a mod but if the game still crashes with common sense disabled, common sense isnt the problem

This happened to my game too but i fixed it personally. All I did was to delete the whole files of my project zomboid and the zomboid folder then reinstall. Unsubscribe all my mods. I couldn't back up my saves and presets because I am aware that it may affect my game.

i made a steam backup of everything

before i do this

my friend and i have a pretty endgame multiplayuer world

i dont want to just lose it

(also i did realize this is also happening for our multiplayuer world too, not just solo)

you can back up your saves incase you wanted to try it without or with mods after the update.

because single player your worlds have to be the version they were made on

if you update your version you have to go back to the old one so you can play on your world

The mods of firearms, Qql, gears may affect the update. Especially the UI tabs i saw from the update. These mods, you should wait or check the author mods you installed if they already update it to build 42.14. Or, you can just stay on 42.13.2 since it says on the update, (Note:
Players who want to remain on 42.13.2 can select the "outdatedunstable" Steam Beta to continue their game.) However, if you still wanted to use the mods, it depends on the modders whether it will still be supported on the version.

i just wanted to continue my multiplayer save with my friends and we cant do it now

because of a tiny update that breaks all your worlds

Even if I go back to the other version it still says the process was terminated

And for single player it just says error

so.. I uninstalled the game. then i deleted the project zomboid folder from steam apps (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid) and then i downloaded it again. no errors. i will say though.. A LOT of mods seem to break with the new update
