can't bring generators into vehicles or in the trunk

trying to bring a generator into the car on my person would drop it entering the car, even trying to put it into the trunk wouldn't let me, is that a new decision or is it like a bug with the update

When you "take" the generator, and it is in your hands and in those circles at the top left, you can't select the Put In (Trunk) option, or whatever its called?
