hi, so the other day I played the game, got off and decided to play tonight, only to realise I can't load my saves, any of them, because a "map is missing" and specifically "Louisville, KY" is missing under maps... is it a mod problem? is it a glitch? and most importantly is it fixable? I'm very confused and have no idea what to make of the problem so if I could have any support I'd be very grateful
#"Map missing" issue?

There was a new update yesterday, could be because of that. Is it a particularly old save? Do you have any older saves without mods?
hi!! this was on an older version of B41, could that still be affected by a new update? and nope, all of my saves (except one which I think was me playing the tutorial where it was too early for me to be using mods anyway) have mods of some kind
Hm, that would be unusual. Can you compress the save folder and send it to me so I can see if it can be fixed?
It may be possible to just replace the map info from another save, which would allow the save to load
absolutely! forgive my ignorance but how do I do this?
Go to %UserProfile%\Zomboid\Saves on your PC and find the specific save folder there, it will be the same name as your save
Then Right Click > Compress > ZIP
And send that zip
is it one of these options? I've played a bit with the files before (making extra copies for situations like this) but I've never heard of a compress option before
The option you have highlighted will work fine
I was referring to this option in Windows 11
ah well don't use Windows 11 but whatever works works
I'll try it and get back to you
I used the highlighted option and this is what I got, hope it helps ❤️
I think I may have found a fix. Try creating a new save with the exact same mods, especially map mods
Then go to its save folder and copy the map_ver.bin file from it and paste it into this broken save
After that you should be able to load it
and replace the existing file I'm guessing
it worked
well, at least, I can go onto the server, I'll just make sure it's working
yep!!! it worked
thanks so much for the help, but if it's alright can I ask what you think caused the problem, and is there anyway I can avoid it in the future?
I can only guess its some sort of mod modification, then the mod updated, which caused the problem
