I gave myself "Angler" trait via admin (admin panel - check stats - player - give angler trait) and while it says +1 Fishing I noticed in my skills my Fishing was still level 0. Is it a hidden modifier? I know my character has a couple of other strength and fitness related traits off character creation, and that gave me 7/10 fit/str correctly.

Am I misunderstanding how some +1 traits work? (also UI question)

As far as I know, the traits only add the skills at character spawn, but not if only the trait is added after spawning already

Meaning you would need to instead level up the skill manually through the admi panel

Also when it comes to the games UI, there are a handful of mods, and some aspects of the games UI, that seem really weird scaling/overlap wise and I can't seem to fix it. (16:9 1440P).

For example with the font size at 26, these settings (pictured, pls ignore font:19 as I just changed it to test if it fixes, in main usage I am running 26 font size) it leads to squished UI like the text]

I'll take a look to see if it's applying the other passive bonuses of Angler in this case (like the fishing experience bonus) and just not applying the skill level

Some UI features do not do that still in vanilla as its WIP

I've tried Font Size: Scale with Window Height and it's really bad, everything is enormous and any mod that adds custom UI panels is terribly overlapping/flowing out etc

26 is "OK" (as pic), and im testing 19 right now based on some reddit scouring, but it is damn small now at 19

The core aspects of PZ UI is fine, for example the map, inventory/container menus, things like that

but yeah for example if I take the pic as comparison from a mod page of some mod that adds a custom UI:

I think I could only suggest reporting that to the mod creator, though scaling the UI is pretty tedious work as far as I am aware

I've tried setting my game to full screen 1920x1080p (instead of 1440p) to see if it would make any difference but it didn't seem to change anything when font px is set to 26 (my ideal)

But testing it out on font 19, now all the custom UI's seem to be behaving correctly (its not just one mod that add custom UI, basically any that suffer this problem)

So it seems outside of font pt 19 I guess the custom UI's in zomboid atm for mods don't seem to like scaling

for example all of these UI's (other than the vanilla radio UI) would be overlapping/squashed in various ways on Point 26 size, Point 19 seems to work correct (just really small)

Just have to live with it I guess, some aspects of the vanilla zomboid ui are soooo small now, but mostly it's okay
