I have a fully fresh Zomboid 42.13.1 Nitrado server install with no altered settings apart from the name. I have a fully fresh game with no mods or anything. When I connect to some random server, everything works fine. However, I cannot connect to the Nitrado server. It shows up in the public server list, but when I connect to it, it says Joining game... endlessly. My friend has the same issue. After countless resets both server-side and client-side, nothing seems to help. I'm at my wits end here, since this issue has been ongoing for weeks.

The server log stops after sending the connection-details. Nitrado's own support is quite unhelpful, and only says 'I checked your server and managed to query and connect to it.'. Does anyone have a tip on how to fix this?

With a weak PC like mine, I cannot host a server on my own device. That's why I chose a service that hosts the server.

Are you certain you installed a 42.13.1 server, which is the old version and not the latest 42.13.2 server?

Can you share the server logs to confirm that?

@woeful surge You're our saviour! I was indeed on version 42.13.1, while the server was on 42.13.2.
