I have 16 gigs of ram and yet my memory jumps up to 99% while using the game causing major issues.

i did have 12.5 gigs for server settings on my local server

#

but i put it to 6

#

i play with 3 other friends on my server

So are you playing and hosting on the same machine?

wary falcon
#

Do you have lots of mods?

proper frost
#

only like 5 or 6

Okay, first project zomboid doesn't use lots of memory unless you have HUNDREDS of mods. When allocating ram for a server it will reserve the indicated amount of ram even if it's not activley using it.

#

12.5 GB for 3 people is WAY too much. 4gb should be okay for a server with a couple mods.

i have it on 6 right now

And did you allocate any extra to your game?

proper frost
#

i dont know how to do that

wary falcon
#

And are you using the "host" option in game for the server?

proper frost
#

yes

wary falcon
#

So with the default overhead of the game of 3gb and the server of 6gb. That's around 9gb. Are you using other apps in the background?

besides discord no

#

i mean there is shit on steam and allat

#

theres also a bunch of other stuff on task manager

#

should i dump it down to 4 gigs?

#

do u think that would fix it

wary falcon
#

I don't know if it will fix it 100% but it's worth a try.

#

Also, if your using the host option in game, you shouldn't need to go and edit the files.

#

You should be able to select the amount of ram you want in the menu
