#Sharpness/durability tests

Method:

For sharpness, i forged two axes. One i sharpened and the other I did not. made sure both had max durability.

For the sharpness test, I ran around and hit 50 zombies that naturally spawned, for a "real world" test. I put each damage number i got through the combat text mod into a txt document. One shots just display the hp of the zombie so that is marked.

Every 100 zombies i checked the sharpness of the axe, and sharpened it if i could, i sharpened the axe 6 times and repaired the handle once (this is testing head durability, as thats the important part)

for the blunt test i did the same as the sharp test, but only repaired the handle as needed, and ignored the sharpness.
(since i forged an axe and didnt sharpen it, it starts completely blunt, worst case scenario)

heres the results for now (tests were done with lvl 10 axe, maint, and strength. I will do a 0 skill test later for a better avg dps wise)

Maintence:
Blunt axe: 518 hit for head to break
Sharp axe 773 hit for head to break

Overall damage averages(overkill excluded)
Sharp: 174 damage per hit
Blunt: 180 damage per hit

tldr for now: sharpness doesnt effect damage, but when weapon is "blunt" you lose out on alot of durability

Great test

I'm curious if this applies the same way for crafting, like cutting denim with dull scissors

@surreal slate
the damage penalty is quite unnoticable for many weapons, but its there

It's a bit funny that a blunt axe dealt marginally more damage. I'd say it's within deviation range to conclude that they do the same amount of damage.

it seems negligible for mid-damage weapons like axes, while high damage weapons like machete/sword suffers the most from damage penalty

#

with long blade 10, i can reliably kill zombies in one hit with a machete/sword, but two hits gets more frequent when those get dull

#

the durability part seems interesting though

#

(also can they please add ingame tips for this so that people dont have to suffer digging through how it works)
