#linux mint + zomboid is a combination worse than getting molten steel poured down your esophagus

its been nearly a month and nobody as helped me so apologies for my frustration, but this issue and the lack of any useful advice is beginning to SERIOUSLY get on my nerves.

ever since switching to linux mint, project zomboid has been giving me issues. after fixing a few, one still WILL NOT stop being an issue. this issue is PERFECTLY WORKING MODS (on windows, they're doing this bs on linux) CRASHING my game when i'm simply SUBSCRIBED to them. not even enabled, just subscribing to them has caused my game to freeze and crash when entering or creating a save.

i cannot use proton so don't suggest that as a solution. (proton either crashes upon launch causes UNPLAYABLE amounts of jittering and lag depending on the version so no, it's not an option.) also, using the runtime compatibility tools haven't worked either, also crashing under the same circumstances.

i genuinely JUST need somebody to give me ANY kind of directions to fixing this issue, i haven't played in over a month almost due to the game being completely and utterly fucking broken for no reason that i can discern, because i'm a gamer, NOT a tech person.

if anyone can help i would really appreciate it because i just want to play the game

(ps: if you wanna be a moron and be like "oh just dont use mods loooll 🤣" then don't respond unless you like being degraded i guess)

I already responded to your previous post.

So I will repeat, mods do not work in Linux in the Unstable build right now, I do not suggest you play the Unstable build with Mods on Linux

You can continue trying to brute force the mods to somehow work, but I cannot help you there, I would suggest you play on the stable version for the best experience
