#Melee hits not registering in latest unstable branch

I am not aware of such reports, is it reproducible on a new unmodded save?
I'll see if I can get that for you
Encountering the same issue in coop with my gf
Got us very injured to the point where we comletely avoid combat atp
The only mods we have are cars
same thing for me in coop, using car mods too.
Theres a bug report on both steam and TIS forums for similar / probably same issue
Something similar happened to me last night playing on a friend's server, only mod on it was the propane fix mod. It didn't affect standing zombies, but zombies on the ground. I could stand on them, but it wouldn't let me stomp or hit with a weapon. I had to let them get up to hit them.
In case there's no fix you can still hit them with alt+left click to hit with melee on the ground
same thing for me too
Has anyone figured out a strategy for playing with this?
Someone suggested using alt+lmb to manually hit them works, not sure if true
Also playing with the hit indicator on so you get a fraction of a second to see the hitbox disappear when they get close
Are you referring to this? https://discord.com/channels/136501320340209664/1462918014243704872
Yeah this appears to be the same issue
Gun only i guess
there's a few solutions to this. relogging does fix it, and frequent server restarts can help. upon restarts, i noticed the rate of coming across these untargetable zombies decreases considerably.
i would also temporarily consider using the safe login mod since players are forced to constantly relog to deal with this.
you can actually hit untargetable zombies for a split second when they are at specific melee weapon ranges. multihit can help them become targetable again when their outline merges with those of unbugged zombies.
All great suggestions. How often are you restarting your server @azure basin? We're restarting twice a day, and have noticed the issue crop up much more commonly in high pop areas like Louisville.
not my server. i'm just a player, but i have made observations that restarts can help considerably. honestly.

rebooting and relogging is not necessarily a super practical solution on account of the frequency. i could only get in maybe 30min of gameplay between reoccurrences, and thats including the time i spent in character creation
obviously the best solution would be for TIS to just drop a small hotfix to deal with this issue specifically since it's immensely game breaking for the MP community, i don't think that's gonna happen
yea its honestly pretty surprising theres been no hotfix, considering theres a lotta people (myself included) who are only interested in mp and it's practically unplayable rn
something i noticed is that if you allocate more ram for the server (over 8gb) it tends to happen less frequently. the server i've been playing had a 8gb xmx cap and as soon as it was raised, i felt huge improvements.
this is on a dedicated server with a pretty beefy cpu though
we were playing on a dedicated server with 12gb ram and it was happening even when people were alone on the server
Having this problem on my server as well. Makes me really not want to do any kind of melee combat
Still happens after B42.14.1
