see, i started to play this game just recently and when i launched the game for first time it worked well. problems started after installing b42 (or even when i put mods into game).
problems not only in black screen, i tried to close the game with alt+f4 way, and sometimes it "worked", window with p.z. got closed, but the game itself still was running and even closing thru task manager couldn't help me with exiting the game.

forgot to add

#

i reinstalled game alot of times

#

i also cleaned mod list and came back to the "normal version" of the game instead of b42

Did you do a full manual reinstall or just a standard one?

#

Since Steam may not remove files from the folders during a standard reinstall.

#

I suggest doing a full reinstall instead.

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

You are on Windows 7? I am not sure we support that, I am surprised it ran in the first place

#

Could you share the logs again though? To confirm the driver update

Hm, that is unusual, did you select the "Clean Install" option during the driver update?

#

To make sure no custom settings are causing issues

#

And can you check out these links and make sure your dedicated card is being used to launch the game instead of your integrated one?

If you have multiple GPUs from Intel, Nvidia, or AMD on Windows 10, you can manually specify the preferred graphics card that an app can use for improved performance or extended battery life.
