both server and client on unstable versions. updated both to the latest. I just get stuck without a progress bar after the "Authorizing with Steam" step.

Can you verify the server's been properly updated by checking the server's log? It should be the first line.

Hmm. Showing 42.13.1. I ran the update twice though. Is there a reason it wouldn't have updated through steamcmd? It showed as complete

Have you done the force install dir?

Delete the files manually, then install it again, to make sure the full installation was done
