#cant join multiplayer servers or steam hosts

So far this has been occurring when there's a version mismatch between client and server. I assume you've updated your client to 42.13.2, but have you correctly updated your server?
Many people, myself included, forgot a step with that this morning.
If you're the server administrator, you can confirm your server's version by looking at the first line of it's _DebugLog file, which should have the version number about halfway through the line.
not my server
its servers other people can/are playing on
Can you try switching your client back to 42.13.1?
No problem! Just note that this means the server you're playing on isn't actually updated to 42.13.2, it may be helpful to point the server's administrator(s) to #1462838933799833715 message on how to do that on Windows if using SteamCMD. It's similar on Linux.
i have the same problem but this didn't work. i am waiting on the admin to see if he can update de server but there like 4 other player on it and it works fine for them
i tried other servers ,
reinstall the game ,
turn off overlay.
ipflush,
intall the game on new hard drive.
delete everything on my user name
change location ,
pc restart
internet restart
anti-virus and firewall acces.
update window
update graphic card
tried another user name (new )
waited a long time 19 minutes to load
and i might of forgot 1 or 2 but now i dont know what else i can do

Downgrade your client to 42.13.1 and see if it lets you join that server.
So are you trying to access a 42.13.1 server or a 42.13.2 server?
where can i find what beta is my server ^
It's not your server, correct?
So that server's on the unstable branch, which is 42.13.2. Your client is on 42.13.1. You need to switch to the unstable branch to play in that server.
Yes.
I've been playing on my server that I updated from 42.13.1 to 42.13.2, and have had no issues with it. However, the developers have warned that issues can happen when upgrading the same save to the new version.
So it's up to you. If you upgrade I recommend having your server administrator make a backup before upgrading if you do.
i see so i could stay on .1 thanks for all your help this should be pin somewhere!
Yes, you can stay on 42.13.1 if you choose, but any server you join will also need to be on 42.13.1.
got it. wow all those thing i did for a simple fix like this
at lease now my game is intalled on a SSD M2
Yep. I agree it wasn't exceptionally clear that they put 42.13.2 on the unstable branch rather than a separate branch like they did with 42.13.1.
The patch notes technically state this in the title ("42.13.2 UNSTABLE HOTFIX Released" vs. "42.13.1 BETA HOTFIX Released"), but still.
that's my bad i am french so technical words but yeah thanks a lot
