hi back at it again 😓 so basically ive been trying FOREVER to get pz and my personal fav mods working on linux and i have no clue whats up with them now. i cant switch back to windows for various reasons and using proton makes my game unplayable from lag, but when i try to play the native linux version (with mods that DID work on windows with no issues) my game crashes as soon as i start my new save (click to start prompt)
i dont know how to even check what's wrong so any help would be appreciated, its been weeks on end of this ever since i switched operating systems and it's beginning to bug me because i just wanna play the game already after about 2 weeks of nothing i know how to do working

for reference it's on b42.13.1, using the native version of the game, and everything worked properly when on windows (the game also crashes even if the mods aren't enabled, just installed)
It could be because of the cap sensitive state of linux. According to the Mod_support chat there was a chat about it earlier yesterday how windows uses caps with no issue but Linux doesn't like caps.
But the very first thing they teach at university, in operating systems, is that Linux distinguishes between uppercase and lowercase letters in its file system, unlike Windows. I’m surprised they didn’t take that into consideration; if details like that aren’t taken into account, I can’t imagine what happens with more serious issues.
B43 will take ages...
Undoubtedly
I find it strange that @brittle viper is having this issue without mods installed, though. The native Linux version does seem to work solidly (I've been playing on it for a long time now), unless this is coming down to Distros (I'm on Nobara, but I've had it work fine on Fedora and a SteamOS as well).
the issue with vanilla linux more or less stopped when i completely like wiped my whole system and os and then reinstalled mint for some reason
like uninstalled the os and deleted all partitions then reinstalled
so i basically gotta use that command somehow to make it be able to read the file names?
I feel like creating symbolic links to fix things is going to be on a case-by-case basis unless someone has gone through and identified the problem directories and files already.
