So I've been playing with my friends through the host button in zomboid's main menu and it worked perfectly for the first two weeks and recently it just started massively lagging for everyone to the point where the game is unplayable (opening doors and doing any action takes over 5 minutes and cannot pick up or transfer items between containers). We tried opening the firewall ports to get rid of the warning "Port something something is closed it may affect performance" that appears when we join but it didn't help.

We also tried putting -nosteam in the launch setting but then we can't even start the server

There is a bug with composting bins at the moment, I would suggest removing them in the meantime
