Looking for any ideas you guys think should be included into this. Wanting to make a full fledged grave handling mod, but at a loss for ideas lol

Current Plans:

  • Expand on the selection process (zone highlights, drag select, etc)
  • Expand on the actual "gravedigging"
  • Add custom graphics for the grave
  • Unburrying Corpses to get Materials (Ripped Cloth/Denim Etc)

Think I am going to include the location coords on the lists as well, so you can find where they are. Maybe city nearest, Im not sure

As many people as I've seen talk about wanting mass graves in game, Im surprised no one else has done a mod for it.

That's a possibility. I also have to rework the "delete" function a bit, cause currently it removes that actual grave, which isn't what it should do, should just remove it from the list

Yeah, technically. though Im adding a customizable field for corpses per chunk so people can change it in sandbox settings if they want

I still have to expand on the actual "Grave Digging" process of making the grave, not really sure how to go about that with the way I chose for graves to be made

I intend to make it where you can drag select an area, it highlights those cells, and then you confirm

i like how its showed in the video it just needs the highlighted cell being updated as you drag the mouse, it can also look good if you make it controller compatible

I've gotta look hard into the way that zomboid handles drag selection in world. Someone linked me a mod repo of a system they wrote and gave me permission to yank shit as needed.

I might just make that sandbox options somehow, cause I really don't care much about being specific to colors, as I am grayscale colorblind, so I make my shit in shades of gray unless its a constantly used color like Green for Confirm, or Red for Cancel

Implemented the "Dig Grave" process. TimedActions length is dependant on the size of the grave

They don't they are infinitely dirt, though im not sure if base game code causes them to over time? I'd imagine they should considering it does so over concrete,g ravel, asphalt etc

Its only able to be dug in sand, dirt, or grass, so I dont see why it wouldnt

Updated the mod to allow sandbox settings which control the time to dig and amount of bodies per tile.

Plans for the next week or so for the mod are to figure out customized textures for the tiles. I'm not fully certain how PZ handles it, I know it's not nineslice images, so I'll have to sort out the math it does to corelate images to locations of other tiles

I bet it'd be really hard to do but Knox Event NPC's had a function where after selecting an area to clear bodies, they'd drag the bodies to a marked spot automatically. It'd be nice if you could do that for yourself and just let your character do it instead of supervising every walk-to command, drop and pick up for dozens of bodies.
