i just recently bought the game since it was on sale and ive been running the same build i stole off of someone but i decided to make my own any advice is appreciated and if the build is trash please tell me

I personally don't like Brave, Fast Reader, Low Thirst and Light Eater, and I normally pick High Thirst and Slow Reader as they don't have much of a downside. I'd pick Keen Hearing(never played without it, it's THAT good) and some skill-related traits. Handy, Hunter and Whittler are all good options, as carpentry and carving are the best crafting skills in the game, and Hunter gives you combat buffs in addition to skills. Cat's Eyes is also an option, as darkness is DARK in B42.

Fast reader is more useful in multiplayer than in singleplayer, and light eater can make it difficult to maintain decent weight since youre eating less and have to be selective with your food choices to pack in calories. Low Thirst also isnt super helpful, carrying around two 1 liter water bottles and storing one in a bag is just easier.

I'd suggest taking gymnast instead of those three, as lightfooted and nimble will help you be faster overall

And also are kinda annoying to level up

my char is super strong and fit and i can carry much stuff with me

Stout, Handy, Keen Hearing, Crafty, Whittler for positives(Fit is obtained from fire officer +1 fitness)
High Thirst, Slow Reader, Weak Stomach, Slow Healer, Prone to Illness, Conspicious, Thin Skinned for negatives
Fire Officer for occupation.

high thirst is not great, having to carry twice the amount of water around is less loot space
