You mean in a coop server?

dedicated in my case.

I closed the server and added my regular character to the whitelist. Logged out and in with the new account no problem.

When i went to my original admin account it told me it was an unknown user. Attempts to add it via the console failed.

Eventually I change the file and reopened the server. The original admin was then able to join.

I made a new account and gave it admin, which was able to log in no problem once i closed the server again. However the original admin account still could not.

Can you elaborate on the attempts to add the user through the console? What errors happened?

#

And what is the username? Does it contain any special characters?

McAdmin, it was telling me for example that the McAdmin user did not exist. When the server was closed. I was using the

adduser "McAdmin" "Password"

command on the console.

#

i was trouble shooting with the provider during all of it.

#

eventually I figured out the work around of just make a new user and give it admin.

#

It could have something to do with the McAdmin being the default account the provider set for me?

Its possible, generally the default account name is "admin", that account basically always has to exist, and is generated on server launch

#

Meaning if it was ever replaced by something else, it might just get renamed back to "admin"

okay I will try to rename it admin and see it that works
