after basics like a proper suit (fireman), a melee weapon and some other things I don't really know what to do
what items are must-have?

Fireman clothes are bait.
The slow you don't give you a lot of heat which drains your stamina and that increases character tiredness

Find some leather and, if possible, make a neck brace to protect it from bites

#

Try to find the recipe mag needed to learn the recipe for leg and arm braces made from magazines

don't they have great bite and scratch resistancy for how easy you can get them? it's like you win protection but lose in any other way possible

Bite and scratch resistance is something you can achieve easily with other clothing and padding

#

But the weight and heat are just way too much negative

#

You'll get tired extremely fast which makes you more prone to getting grabbed

#

Killing zombies will be a lot slower

#

Since you'll get tired after the 3-4th zombie

#

The best protection is not to be touched in the first place

#

You can have a 100% bite protection helmet and the zombie can stll bite you through it somehow
