I’m not sure if the plumbing system has changed since B41 however if you build it on a level above. Within a 3x3 grid you can connect water barrels to sinks. So if you build stairs and a platform so it is exactly one level higher you should be able to use a pipe wrench to connect it.

It just need to be one floor above

Then you click on the sink with a pipe wrench and choose plumb sink

hey, has anybody tested if a barrel on ground level can get plumbed to a sink in a basement?
