After exactly 100 days of struggle since the outbreak, Monty Lennox now has time and the chance to document his daily life for any future survivors or historians. He has walled off the Twiggys block, containing multiple sheds and Stendo's Firearm emporium. He has 4 sheep, 2 pigs, 8 piglets, and a whole lot of rodents. On day 83 he finished his forge setup, allowing him to increase his ambitions to a Louisville and Indiana expedition once winter passes. Monty has made a full base in the Rosewood FD, dabbled in Muldraugh, and has cleared out Riverside and West Point.

#

Now that Monty is situated with an infinite supply of butter, crops, meat, and weapons, he's decided to increase the luxuries of the Animals and pet raccoon(s) that have gotten him so far.

Each 39x39 square represents a pen for a different species of animal. The 39x39 squares will actually be 40x40 squares that are not touching the planned pathway in the middle. The squares will be divided in half by male and female to prevent the second human extinction event caused by a blackhole of chickens.

One square for Pigs, one square for Sheep, one Square for cow, and the last square divided into 2 subsections for Chickens/Turkeys and Rabbits/Raccoons, still differentiated by gender. The space between the squares will be an animal product processing barn and contain a isolated enclosure for controlled animal mating.

Turnips anyone?

Gonna cook these up and it should level Monty to cooking 10, however he need's another 1 1/2 level in agriculture so he's going to harvest another 300 turnips in 40 seeds. High agricultural levels = absurd harvest levels.

First snowfall of the Year on the precipice of October.

Actually the first time I've made it to winter.

I forgot to post an image of the second story, used to be a 3x12 walkway but I found a bunch of the same tiles and created a second story for storage.

Monty ran out of nails while building the animal enclosures and took a trip to Muldraugh. Unfortunately he was desensitized to the dangers of the untamed county, leading him to leave his car on as he took a 5 minute stroll to a warehouse. His car was surrounded by half the town(only 1/10 shown in image) and so were his 7 machetes. Thinking quickly he activated a siren nearby, dragging all the Zeds out of view for as long as the car battery lasted.

#

Unfortunately the cars battery had been damaged by time, and only minutes after he had activated the sirens they shutoff, leaving a 15 second period for him to dash to his car and drive off. Still his muscles ached and his mind unsettled, with the horde surrounding his noisy car, he realized he could not drive to any place safe as they would always be there. He grabbed a few machetes and swords before dashing off to a safehouse he had setup 3 months prior in Smokey's, taking every corner and fence he could to elude the horde(s) that still remained.

#

Monty tied an escape rope to his bedroom window before he slept, hoping if all else failed he could break the window and jump out. But it was pointless as adrenaline, agonizing pain, chainmail armor, and the shivering prevented him from sleeping. He laid there for 2 hours before he'd finally get any rest. Stranded, without a car, with 4 turnips and a stick of butter. All he was certain of was the fight.

Whenever I see big bases, I really hope the Building Mods of Build 41 are coming soon.

Neat Building UI doesn't add any new buildables but it adds buildables that exist in world such as dark wooden walls, ovens, fences, concrete walls, many floors, and most other generic building things found around the map. There's also the "Buildables Expansion" an expansion and created by the person who made "Building Menu 41.78". They are not compatible if I recall, I'm using Neat Building for now as it is also a great UI. Sadly I don't think there are any roofing mods yet.

He also picked up some bloody novelty glasses from a deceased.

I think its fair to say this has become more than just a nail run. Realized I had some shotgun shells in my glove box and started blasting. Killed 250 zombies in 3 hours with Mace's alone.

worn rain
#

Outta here! 1200 kills and 27 boxes of nails later. I hope that is enough. 620 weight of materials were gathered from the 4 days Monty spent in Muldraugh. Cleared the entire Strip, looted 2 storage units and 4 warehouses.

Getting lights up makes the place look more official.

Finished the wall which is accurately drawn on the map! its a 96x84 enclosure, or 360 walls, 1440 planks/480 logs, and 2160 nails.
4 pens of 40x40 space or 1600 tiles of grass per species, 800 per gender. The areas without a animal zone will be 4 sided barns and processing rooms.
The light blue animal zone is a driveway with enough space to turn around with a trailer attached.

I'm thinking of just making it a straight driveway, and adding a roundabout at the end to turn.

The Day is November 10th.

First hard snow of the year, November 16th. Working on the barn design.

So that went well. Was working on the roof, not paying attention aaaand I fractured my leg. Nearly bled out before I got the splint on. I wanted to do household chores over winter, but I guess I'm doing them now. Its going to take a week or two to heal, so Im going to setup an irrigation system for my non existent crops.

worn rain
#

November 19th. Irrigation system is setup, with space for 119 crops. I'll probably travel down to echo creek to pickup the 6 or 7 flood lights that are there. The fair also has a guaranteed generator for whenever I want to take on Guns Unlimited.

worn rain
#

Maybe not the most realistic thing I've done in this game, but I need to heal that fracture somehow. People say first aid is useless, but at level two your fracture heal speed increases by 3x, and at level 10 it increases by 11x. Simply leveling first aid by one almost entirely negates slow healer. Definitely worth it to step on some glass.

Working on getting that last bit of protection. Just need some basic clothing. Still have a fracture but its healing.

Back to work on the 26th. Monty finished walling in one of the barns, next is roofing. The lower right pen will hold cows, the upper right pen will hold small animals, the lower left pen will hold sheep, and the upper left pen will hold pigs. 1600 tiles of grazing area and shelter for each pen.

#

There's actually a missing wall there.

worn rain
#

Its getting cold, and I underestimated the planks I'd need to finish the roofs and barns. At least another 500 logs and I'll need to make a nail run to a warehouse in riverside. I hope to finish this before Christmas but I may not. November 29th, 10C below.

Took a generator and a floodlight for the long haul, as well as a sleeping bag and food.

Barn 1 done! (except doors)

never going to need more charcoal.

Pretty certain I do not have enough nails even after collecting 3200. Out again to riverside, but as the loot goblin I am I noticed the gun and camping stores were straight down from the warehouses. I setup a shelter for tonight, and a fire, to cook some chicken I butchered. Gun stores bound to be bustling.

W West Point base I’ve always loved West Point but looks amazing

Sadly I did not take pictures while I was looting and exploring, I just forogt. There were 200-300 zeds there but the mace made quick work of them and I was done looting by noon. I also visted the historic site just above the gun store and took a few top hats for the road. Despite all of that, I think the best thing I found was three large tanned leather pieces in the back of a van. I'm still not sure I have enough nails, but I can forge the rest for sure. 5 Months, 5500 zeds, and the day is December 7th 1993.

The walls of the second barn was knocked out, and I installed the doors on both barns. I still need a 550 planks for the roof, but then I can move all my animals here. There's a pair of Holstein cow's and bulls not to far that would work great for the cow pen. back to sawing. (December 11th 1993).

how does the watering mod work out for you?

worn rain
# noble nimbus how does the watering mod work out for you?

If you mean the Irrigation pipes, I actually have not tested them as its mid winter. Its not necessary for plants planted before or during rain, but during fall which has almost no rainfall, and droughts, it really helps not having to water your crops for a full day. Really, I just did it because it looks good.

#

I have never seen a blizzard like this nor knew it could even get this bad, horrific windchill. Monty was sawing logs when over the course of 30 minutes the weather turned from 5c to -10c with high winds. I can't even see let alone work in these conditions, but the barn is almost done. I tried to listen to EBS to see when it would end, but I couldn't interpret a single piece of information from it, other than another predicted blizzard, in 2 days.. I'm just setting up the divider fences. The day is December 17th, 162 days survived.

worn rain
#

33 Days, a broken leg, a trip to 3 different towns, and a blizzard, and the barn is finally built. All that is left is the animals and to fill the water troughs(the missing fences are built as of now)

I don't know when or where, but a sheep underwent mitosis, guess it works.

worn rain
#

Never thought you could have to much butter. It takes at least 5 in game hours to churn the butter from all 4 sheep, so I have to dump the milk out. If I don't milk the animals twice a month they may stop producing milk. I might stop doing even this as I have 60 sticks of butter in a cabinet somewhere. Most of the animals are moved into pasture. The day is December 23rd.

#

I have good clothing but it still isn't enough. Going to have to forego fashion.

163 days since the last real contact. December 25th, 1993. No lights. No noise. No presents or joy. And no contact. Well, other than a one-way talk station somewhere in Knox County. Monty baked a cake and a pie for himself for the day. All the animals were moved from the pens into the pasture. 2 cows and a bull were moved in, from a nearby ranch. All outdoor activities are done, and Monty can settle in for the next three months.

I'll primarily be reading skill books, leveling crafting skills, and working on base decor. I plan to take on Louisville, Guns Unlimited, or go through the Brandenburg highway to get to the towns in Indiana. Before any of that though, is a long winter.
