is there going to be some sort of Wiki update/revamp?
We want to get an idea of how people feel about where the wiki is at and where our attention should be focused. It just depends on the results
To add to what Vail said, we have a whole wiki review month coming up in September where we're going to stop and take a wider look at the wiki as a whole, our procedures, policies, design, and scope. We spend countless hours on the wiki, and while we do our best it's hard for us to get an understanding of the changes we're making from an outside perspective.
So it wont quite be a revamp, but will inform our decision making.
I'd gladly help with the Wiki, especially translating it to Spanish
(LOVE the wiki, use it all the time, wish there was a clear way to differentiate/navigate to 41.x and 42.x data. thanks!)
There's a banner at the top of each page that states what version the article is for. Most also have a link to directly go back to the B41 version of that article. If you have any ideas how to make this more noticeable it's definitely something we want to try
We have help guides to get you started, otherwise we're always around in #pzwiki_editing
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Help:Translations
It might be more accessible and representative to people if we didn't have to login with a Google account to fill this in
Verification was required to limit spam and repeat answers
Fair, didn't think that would be a problem in this case
Have you guys ever thought about making a section that show youtubers that teaches you how to play the game in a section for new players? Because the wiki is good but having a visual representation always help.
(one of the questions was embedded videos)
Videos would be great for learning
Yes. We even have a style guide and video policy. Really just requires someone to make, upload and add them
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Video_policy
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Help:Style_guide#Videos
Is that is intended to be a threat?
no, lol
But sounds like one
sorry, i am brazilian
this doesn’t seem to be on topic to the discussion about the future of the pz wiki!
I'd love to see the wiki show a proper tech tree
Thank you so much for this insight!
I had realized that after submitting my survey
Right now there isn't really a proper tech tree in the game, but further into development that might be possible
yea I figure as time goes on it will be needed
but I feel like it could be useful now. like this is what we had as a visual back in the day
having an updated one would be nice, it would help (me at least) visualize where I need to go for progression
the crafting menu is a bit overwhelming
I agree, but we expect major changes to progression as there's a series of missing links still, and the crafting menu will hopefully be improved
💯
i hope this question won't look dumb, but why only english tho?
A few reasons. It makes the server a bit more inclusive (ironically) since it maximises the number of people who can understand the content being discussed, but the big thing for us is that the mod team speaks English, and it's a lot harder to moderate content you can't read.
fair enough, thanks u
