Hey everyone, it's your friendly neighbourhood Scroobs here, inviting you to come and check out my humble server, Ascendancy.

We're a public PVE server run for veterans, by veterans.
We used to market ourselves as a "hardcore" server, but we're not really hardcore, we just have multiple thousands of hours of experience in the game so we like a challenging experience that'll keep us on our toes. If you like the sound of that, then this is the server for you!

  • Loot is scarce but respawn is on - you'll have to move around a lot if you want to find the good stuff
  • Infection is bite only
  • Zombies speed/cognition is entirely random
  • Nights are dark, and we run on four hour day/night cycles

Despite the fact that we like our settings to be challenging, we're not complete masochists. We still like the game to be fun as well, so we've got quite a lot of good QoL features that'll ease some of the pain of surviving.

We've got a fairly big mods list with lots of QoL and content, all thoroughly tested and inspected (although some bugs are just beyond our control).
We spend a lot of time curating this list to ensure the most enjoyable experience for you, and we hold a lot of mods to high standards. If it's buggy or exploitable, we'll get rid of it.

We've just done a fresh wipe as of the 4th of July, running the standalone Project France map.

  • Not dedicated RP but it is welcomed

Re-launched for B42. Get on it bois!

Still the same core settings, just pure vanilla this time. Mods come later, but seeing as 42 is unstable, much like all of us, we're getting a taste of vanilla before heaping a bunch of other flavours on top. Join us!

I'm going for a bit of a philosophy shift and not trying to stay beholden to that "veteran server" identity we had in the past and just focus on making the game enjoyable. As such, the following tweaks have been made...

  • Water and Electricity will last for somewhere between 2-6 months.
  • Overall loot has been bumped up ever so slightly, cause searching an entire town to find a single can of beans ain't fun.
  • Loot respawn timer has been downed slightly, so loot will come back more often. Still not telling the exact number.
  • Plants will grow faster and farming/foraging yields slightly higher results.
  • Plant growing seasons are back on cause I thought it was cool.
  • Hunger, thirst etc will decrease slower.
  • Car spawn rate and condition has been upped slightly, but so has locked chance.
  • In probably the wildest change so far, infection transmission has been turned from "Bite Only" to "Everyone's Infected". Bites are no longer the death sentence they once were, but no matter how you die, you will zombify within the day.
  • XP multiplier has been downed from 5x to 3x. Still high enough to give a boost and check out the new skills, but not as crazy as it was last time.

Also removed the ping limit, so anyone from any region can join. Still primarily an OCE server, but anyone's welcome!

Bumpies. Come check out the server. Wipe started a couple weeks ago. Added a few minor QoL mods.

As always, loot respawn is on so you'll always find good shit. No harm in showing up late to the party!

42.14 UPDATE - FRESH WORLD WIPE

More or less the same settings and mods as before. Only changes are as follows...

  • Decided to make the world hot instead of cold this time, and also bumped up the rain by a notch.
  • Took out a couple of mods that weren't compatible - Hair Menu and the MP Bug Fix mod although hopefully we don't need that one anymore. I'll bring em back if/when they get updated.
