Project Zomboid on Android

Finally, you can play Project Zomboid on your Android smartphone with Zomdroid — an unofficial Project Zomboid launcher.

The app is still in early development, but you can try it out right now. This is not a streaming app — the game runs entirely on your mobile device.

Minimum system requirements:

• Android 11 or higher
• At least 2 GB of free RAM
• Approx. 10 GB of free internal storage (for Build 41)

Smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors are recommended, but Zomdroid can also run on other chipsets, though there will be visual bugs.

There is no explicit ownership check and implementing one wouldn't make much sense (since zomdroid is open-source and anyone can modify it)

Zomdroid is just a launcher, basically a set of tools for playing the game, it doesn't include any game files. In order to actually play Project Zomboid, users will need to provide game files and how they obtain said files is up to them

Copying folder from PC to the smartphone would take considerable amount of time due to filesystem shenanigans. What you should do instead, is create a zip archive with game files and copy it to your device. It is the only supported way to install the game at the moment. Actually, I recommend reading mini-wiki in Zomdroid app which contains step by step instructions how to download correct files from Steam and how to copy them

By correct files I mean files for Linux, because Zomdroid won't work with files for Windows or MacOS

I'm playing rn from geforce now and, it's not that bad. I just experiencing some lags for 10-5 seconds per 5-10 mins cuz of bad internet stability on android, but it's bearable. Resolution in it still awesome so idk

If I remember correctly those screenshots were taken on resolution comparable to Full HD, which by the way was a result of downscaling from native almost QHD to make the text and icons bigger, so I'm not sure what is your point.

I followed the steps, downloaded and unzipped the PZLinux version file, and opened it with zomdroid v1.1.0, but it still didn't respond

Are you sure you followed instructions exactly? If you just add projectzomboid folder to archive it wouldn't work, because Zomdroid expects specific folder structure. You need to select all files in that folder, with Ctrl+A for example, and add them to the archive.

The projectzomboid folder is what I downloaded after looking up the version number from SteamDB. The contents inside are these, and the file size is correct

Enter the Steam console (steam://open/console) and enter [download_depot 108600 108603 1153657949707515857]. After the download is complete, it will appear in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_108600\depot_108603

It says you should open the folder where ProjectZomboid64 is located, select all files in it and add them to zip. It's a straightforward and easy to replicate step

When talking about financial support I'm referring specifically to sponsorship from The Indie Stone. Even though I appreciate every donation, I don't expect community to crowdfund this project. People already payed for the game, they shouldn't spend money again to play it on a mobile device

Good people still exist, and I am very grateful to you. Emulators had a big problem with Java. If it's not a bother to you, I saw some people saying that it was possible to play via LAN using zero tier, as I tried and failed I wanted to know from the creator of the port if this is really possible. pleasantly surprised that shooting guns and reloading them arent a a pain to do on my phone and especially the melee combat, only thing rn thats a bit of a challenge is the small scroll wheels on the crafting menu but i guess thats something hardcodes in the game but not experience breaking

I followed the in app guide, downloaded linux version via steam console, zipped and shipped to my phone via gogle drive and locally downloaded the zip package, and when i go to select it in the zomdroid launcher its greyed out / not letting me select it.

The developer has stopped supporting it, and fans are working on it.
