Moondance Blues is a text-based roleplaying server based in the near future, summer of 2025. Taking inspiration from the Cthulthu Mythos and other similar cosmic horror themes, we aim to create a unique experience where your character will be forced to adapt to a threat that shouldn't exist. Team up with other survivors and build meaningful and impactful relationships, or travel alone and build a story for yourself in a world no longer governed by Humanity.
STORY:
Moondance Blues takes place in Dirkerdam, Indiana, just north of the Ohio River. An area that's fallen from grace in recent years, most find themselves only going to the area to visit the city: a bustling location teeming with shops and residential spaces. NASA has just returned home the crew of their latest COMPASS II mission, which aimed to set up a more permanent base on the moon. However, one of the members looked extremely troubled by something on his mind during their first hours back on Earth. Nothing is learned from him, however. A decision that would harm many...
Chaos soon erupted, not long after their return. The Dirkerdam area, overnight, became a whirlwind of death and chaos. People watched as their friends and family violently shifted into bloodthirsty monsters, many of them suffering that same fate. By July 10th, 2025, the entirety of the Dirkerdam area was under lockdown. Armed servicemen patrolled every inch of road, forest, and water surrounding the QZ. No infection was getting out, but neither was anyone that was still alive.
However, every night, the moon peeks its ugly head back upon Indiana. And every night, something in the dead changes.
