Fire Officer still good for new players because it give your very nice bonus without downsides.

Police Officer is the best take if you like using fireams, because leveling up aiming is very slow and trying to use anything besides a shotgun in point blank without skills is a nightmare.

The new stealth system made Burglar shine, but hotwiring cars is more a convenience than a needing because finding vehicle keys now become easy. So it's no more the META it used to be.

Fitness Instructor is essential if you play with sprinters.

Now I don't want to make a review about every occupation, but you can ask me about them and I will answer why I put them on that tier. But IMO, craft-based occupations is not my take because I like engaging in combat and exploring more than settling and building things.

DIY expert should be higher surely? carp bonus and we know carp is important and maintenance + short blunt? what's not to like? security guard above it?

DYI expert is basically a nerfed Carpenter. The only reason I see to pick it instead of Carpenter is if you want to use spears.
But for the other side, Carpenter in this game feels like a joke because you worked your entire life on this job but don't know how to craft a chair or a barrel. The initial stats feels very low.

But for me, Security Guard is good because the exclusive Night Own trait. Take it with Wakeful and you basically have caffeine instead of blood. The combat debuff in a tired character is annoying.

# balmy delta Where is unemployed?

Unemployed is wild card because it's made at the liking of the player, so it can be good or bad depending of your build and playstyle. And it don't have any bonus or exclusive traits.
