Mods added to hosted game

is there any way to add mods to hosted games and if there is how to do it and will it break the save or just add them without any save destroying changes lmk asap because my friend forgot to add mods at beggining of creating hosted game and we wonder if we will lose the save or not

You can add mods to saves, but I would suggest making a backup before that
