my friend is having trouble with the new b42 version cutting out his internet for like 10 seconds everytime he launches the game

B42 does not really use the internet, it is more likely that the Steam server browser is checking for servers when the game is launched

I suggest going to the Steam settings > In Game > Lower the Server Ping
