Thanks I appreciate that 🙂 I was curious and looked it up a bit more, the tail light is actually by far the brightest light on these and usually is the easiest to spot from distance. Good eye!

I'm a pilot. The red strobe on top of the tail fin is for the tower controllers, indicating that the engines are running. On commercial planes, there’s also a red strobe on the belly, which is for the ground crew, serving as a warning to stay clear of the engine pods.

As for wing lights, the red light is always on the left side, and the green light is always on the right. These help other pilots in the sky determine the direction an aircraft is flying.
