#Sean's Base between West Point & Louisville

Yea I need to get some bigger truck mods. They're so ridiculously handy.
They did us dirty with the pittance the StepVan can hold. 145 is so small for a commercial cargo van.
stepvan can hold 200 if you repair it up
Even then. Combined with the trailer, 300 kgs is still pretty wimpy for a single trip. I'd definitely love some large haulers like you have.
when i found stepvan it was only hold 65 and extremely damaged. i careful bring it to resident where i can find numbers of sheet of metal to fix it up. but now all i need fix 4 tires
i dont see trailer anywhere yet. if i found i would drag it there
The real chore to get is lightbulbs. They only last a few days
You have that lantern mod which I'm thinking of gettibg since I'm not in sandbox mode. Otherwise I'd just literally make lightbulbs last forever because they burn out silly fast.
blubs are very easy to find. just look for car. grab them or house lamp
That or dismantle electronics. Lots of them have lightbulbs too
yes lantern mod are good. there's two kind, gas and battery
battery dying too fast than gas
but it's still annoying. "Oh it's been 5 days, better replace literally every light on my property "
i have mod 'machine!' that allowed me to craft saw bench make it cutting log much faster
anyway i better off 2 bed. it's 4 am here
Update: Built the first tower and a short wall.
I'm going to make the wall thick because it bothers me to see a wall as thin as paper. There will be a passage inside the wall connecting tower to tower. I have a mod called "Build Roof," which allows me to add a floor on the second level while keeping my character on the first floor. The building next to the farm has been turned into a temporary home and a battery bank. Once the wall is complete, I’ll build a new, more comfortable house, and the temporary home will be converted into a garden shed.
Update:
The rain finally came, and all the barrels are now full of water!
I laid down wooden planks on the floor to mark where the walls and tower will be. I also installed stairs for access to the second floor.
What happened to the Stepvan? I took it apart after salvaging the engine, bulbs, etc., before breaking it down into metal pieces. It kept getting stuck whenever I drove it on dirt or grass. It wasn't worth keeping, but the big truck can handle those areas without any issues, so…
I brought a shopping cart back to the base so I can use it to load logs each time I chop down a tree. It helps carry them without slowing me down or exhausting me too much.
As for storage, I moved the big truck to the northeast to make room for six shelves, which I'll use to store food. I emptied out the giga store (canned goods) and brought everything back to the safe zone. So much to do!
That's shaping up pretty nice so far.
Thank you 🙂
why i end up unfollow this post. i never click on unfollow
Yea happened to me as well on mine lol.
kicking on discord
that lame, i lost interest since i saw YouTube about B32 they make me suffer to dying wait for that game
not yet
but i watch few YT about build house/base from scratch, they look great and make my base look ... shame'
i tried build a dock. by put down wood floor expand from dirt to water. it wont let me keep goings
Update:
I was headed to Louisville to find more solar panels, but I found a number of good supplies at a military checkpoint. For some reason, there were very few zombies, so I could explore a bit. I never made it to Louisville, but I found a satellite dish and a scanner. Not sure what they’re for, but I brought them back anyway.
The gate I built at the fence turned out to be too small for the truck to fit through—smh—but that’s okay. Only people can go through there, not vehicles.
Also, my farm are finally growing!
Noooooo sigh I went to louisville to find solar panel and i found numbers of panel. Then I turn around find tons of zombie block my path AARRGGHH
@stiff garnet
only 289 kills in 1 month is actually crazy
stealth build
how can such play all stealth
i avoid city at all costs and i'm good on stealth build 🙂
word
Awww 😭
That's why I avoid stealth build. I like being loud and conspicuous so I know where they are and come to me while growling. Having keen sense also works very well but yeah, being careful and aware 100% is essential too.
Good luck on your next run! I think Imma make a thread like this too... My base just got burnt yesterday lol
call fire dept!! have them hose them... oh right i forget, all of them dead walking. but it would be nice to able something like water tower with hose attach to hose base if need to. If you set up thread for your base. tag me. i'll follow your 🙂
=======================================================================================================
Start again...
=======================================================================================================
That's rough but that was a really good first try. You were well on your way to thriving.
Was waiting to see how you'd do your wall lol
Since i restart... now this one i has been trouble to finding nails. hardware store is... fill with clothes no tools there sigh i recall there's small warehouse at south west point. also still hunt for sleigh hammer before i could raid for storage units. At least i got two those cure thingy from mod called They knew I have not found guns yet. Police station is crawls with zombie. so I'm steer clear of it for now. Also, i didnt found any axe yet
I... I don't know that generator could explode and cause fire. I'll need to repair it every now and then but half of my stuffs are gone 😭
I'm hoarding stuffs again but I just reach winter and finding foods are kinda hard since I've looted most of Westpoint's diners
I'll make a thread tonight. Too bad I didn't take a screenshot of my half-burnt base sigh
Where did you start spawn at?
a generator would almost be a good time bomb lol
https://gyazo.com/f91cc8bcdd989d2e58fa52fe1ad1c1f9 at one of those house with fence around just north of medical supplies/auto repair shop
for now i'm stay in apartment above food and hardware store to gating supplies. I have not found suitable vehicles yet.
Uhmm what town is that? I can't remember any town like that
Muldraugh? I can't remember Muldraugh and Louisville lol
click on image to zoom in, there's white top left with city name... west point
....Oh yeah, somewhere in the middle. Yeshhh
we love west point - also neat base location idea
Picture left: Hell no, I'm not going chopping that many. I don't even found any gun yet.
Picture right: Found a semi truck & trailer. went to gas station to fill it up but leave it there. i have no idea how to open trailer that's locked
arrived... works will begin soon. I manage to found 3 axe, many nails and seeds.
as far its 7 days for my character and already kills close to 400
You are not using common sense mod? iirc with that mod and crowbar you can open up any locked door
With enough strength
i didnt found any crowbow yet
you check the West Point hardware store yet?
read above "hardware store is... fill with clothes no tools there "
damn.
yeah its sucks
I learn my mistake at first attend build house as small size. I was rushes into build rain collect hook up with sink. This time... I'm not rushes. if I need water. just go back city and get some water from some house or store. they carries tons of them. The first house was only 1 floor with badly have room for everything basic I needs.
This time, I'm plan to build 3 floor. 1st floor as storage and batteries for solar panels. 2nd floor water sink, kitchen, living space, 3rd floor rain collect barrels.
1st floor won't have any windows. 2nd will have some windows
work on 2nd floor.
Noooo!!!! I hit wrong key and character jump over wall frame to death. was work on wall around 2nd floor... sigh new character or new map start again mmmm
yeesh
Don't let your work go to waste! Make a new character! 😄
long work to get level up skill umm mech.... back to lame bat as wepon... hell with it, yeah!
I'm using that skill recovery mod but my honestly my first character died without me making the journal book first so... my second character literally started with nothing. Plus, my second character missed out all the TV shows every 6 hours 😦
But having items from 1st character helps so yeah, hell with it!
i use crrd mod that allowed me to level skill as i read book. let me see if i can find book again :p
My character seems like she was built for stealth
But I always go loud and crazy, kill hundreds of zombies within the first week. I need to get stronger, and the only way to do that is fight zombies
Yep. Killing zeds is a good thing always. I kill them everytime I see one.. at least when the respawn is set to off
Aww I'm so jealous of your base. Looks so green and beautiful. Mine are half-burnt and covered in snow
come over to my dimension we can live together, work together lol
Sure after I've cleared my goal
I built a base on that little area too, glad to see someone else realized what a good spot it was. This is probably one of the only pictures I have of it, as I didnt seem to take any of when it was more finished than this. I had a wall going across the island, a garage, and a small outbuilding I used to fish from. Lasted around 4 months before I died clearing the road to Muldraugh
i hate when you cant do reload to last saave
is muldraugh really this bad?
every story ive heard abt muldraugh sounded worse than louisville
Probably because Muldraugh zeds' are concentrated on the main road rather than in the town itself and many are trying to pass Muldraugh to get to WP or LV gets overwhelmed...
tbh yea
i was driving through muldraugh to my base and couldnt get past the first house on the main road
Even zeds don't like Muldraugh, they're trying to leave Muldraugh lol
But that town has multiple warehouses
the house is almost finish few fence then done.
2nd floor enjoy the view
from inside of 1st floor. and temporary bed
it's very hot outside, rid all shirts... hopeful no zombie attack
work on it, going be 2nd floor
Is there an infinite aloud number for floors?
sad, no. i think top is 5 but wait until B42 i heard they go up to 30 floors
Finally finish fence around. but plan to add few more solar panels, dont want take few round trips to gas station
OMG santa found me!!! oh it's dummy. there's kitchen as you asked @stiff garnet and bookshelve for all skill books... something to read
battery bank has installed
future site for farm. small for now
Why nobody build a outdoor? :p
Sick base man, looks awesome
no cabbage seeds damnit!
Plan to build fence around farm. but right now i'm take break from ZP it's late night in real world
Why build fence around farm? That place has no heat map lol
just to make look nice, like this from long time ago my farm... fence... not wall
finally got shelve for canned foods
FINALLY DAMNIT A REAL BED!!! But too bad no blanket
you talk about heat map, how can i see it?
so... how can i tell where my base at
Ever tried opening the map?
oh it's not screenshot?
its a media link to a photo
then yeah
Aw cool! You got the antique stove. I haven't found one... Or I did but forgot to bring it back
Wait where is the fridge
I still don't understand how to use battery for generator. Teach me please :>
I really should rotate my farm to face that way... currently it's limited but honestly 5x5 is enough for solo player, had too much veggies in my fridge
Why bed so close to kitchennnn hahahah
I know. It's from Immersive Solar Array. I managed to craft solar panel, connect it to battery bank but dunno how to use battery on the generator
it's small house where can i put bed?
generator is backup in case solar is not enough to product power
dont you see icebox outside house?
i use this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiljecOBj1k

194 planks... that's alot of woods
farm fence complete. i know useless but it looks nice
new wall has begin building. gate is complete.
i'm going use gravel to create road between railroad to gate. i'm not going build all way to base.... if i live longer and able to find alot of gravel then maybe
Pretty little base :> can you paint them?
There's a shit ton of gravel in the warehouse around Muldraugh and warehouse building just before the military checkpoint
those van I repair into great shape... i wish i could gain more cargo in van if i remove rear and middle chair but it dont. my top cargo is 50 at that van sigh but i know where semi truck is it got about 1,500 cargo but too big. i probably wont take truck into base just park on road/railroad
The Story of Santa Zed
Once upon a time in Knox Country, Santa Zed roamed the streets every winter, a peculiar zombie draped in tattered red and white robes with a jingling bell in one hand. Despite his undead state, Santa Zed was a symbol of hope—a reminder that even in the apocalypse, the spirit of the holidays lived on. Survivors often left gifts for each other near his path, a quiet tradition inspired by his appearance.
But one fateful December, Santa Zed wandered too close to a survivor's base. It was an accident—a misunderstanding—but the survivors, wary and scared, saw him as just another threat. In the chaos of survival, Santa Zed was lost.
Though Santa Zed is gone, his legend remains. Survivors now honor his memory by continuing the tradition of leaving gifts and sharing moments of peace during the harsh winter months.
**A Siren Song of Doom **
I was on my way back to my base with a trailer full of canned food, feeling pretty accomplished. Then, I spotted a car with a light bar. Naturally, I couldn't resist checking it out. I hopped in, turned on the lights, and blared the siren just for fun. Satisfied with my little joyride, I went back to my truck.
As I got ready to drive forward, somehow, I pressed E instead of W—muscle memory betrayed me! Before I realized it, I was out of the truck with six zombies pounding at the door. Needless to say, it didn’t end well for me. SMH... why do W and E have to be so close?
=====================================================================
end of story.... time for start all over again.... different location
Sad... Looking forward to your next base
start new tread or stay on this one? after all this is about between west point & louisville
Start a new one I guess
Now I kinda wonder about those 100 days video in youtube. Does the youtuber secretly revive their character when they die off-camera?
I think i'm going build base at Muldraugh one of those storage unit
After mine, I think I'm going to spawn at LV haha
You can however stay alive as long as you can but dying at one point feels like a waste so usually ended up secretly revive that character LOL
With mod. Hehe
Thank you! I'll be sure to follow you
😄
that is true, the road going through maldraugh is hell 😭
the funny thing is the thing that ended the run wasnt the main road though. it was a single zombie hiding in a tree biting me as I hopped a fence
oof, know how that feels. happened to me once as well lol
Thats actually pretty good location for base, also good wood source for the base
I made a similar base (just around the corner to the right from the peninsula) and it was one of my favorite builds. Once I found the genny mag and a generator and some basic tools, I started building it.
Since (in other saves) I've taken over the large apartment complex in LV, part of the 2nd floor of the Crossroads Mall, and several other warehouses. None were as much fun as a custom built base in that location. It was a great spot for getting to West Point, Muldraugh, and Louisville.
You've inspired me to give up my current playthrough and do this again.:)
i have no idea how you build wood floor on water. i tried, game wont let me
Fink inspired me to try build peninsula. you can see his showcase https://discord.com/channels/136501320340209664/1297012137469677618
:3
Really? I just build a tile on the dirt next to the water, then it lets me build one next to it out over the water. Incidentally if you pull up that tile with a crowbar or disassemble it, its dirt underneath, so you can actually terraform the river. Not great if you want a zombie barrier, but could be useful in some cases.
I don't think I have a mod that allows me to do that, but I guess it's possible it's built into one of the ones that I do use.
maybe it dont work if i build on sand to water maybe should be on dirt then sand then water?
stealing my base location eh? xD
The thing that leaves me puzzling is the amount of mods you need in order to do that...
yea well, i play VERY longtermed games sooo... its worth
bro is tony stark
no i dont steal, i inspire fink's idea
but i love your base... maybe i'll steal that one after b42 out!
