#Looking for a base that's only about this big.

Probably some of the outer neighborhood houses of West Point?
These are not necessarily at a starting town, but it is a short drive away from West Point
You talking about these?
The ones on that longer road ye
The three mansions by the river are just a short drive away from the main West Point city, it's pretty mellow area I believe, but I've personally never been there before.
Players sure do like the place though hahaha
church sounds good
no sinks, ovens, or fridges though
You can grab. Some ovens and fridges from the next door houses
though i could shack up in the house next to it in the meantime
as i level my electrical enough to pick up ovens
if you want a strategically excellent location, here's this place
green dot, it's where i set up for my runs
personally, i kinda find that a bit cramped
the green dot here is where the sports shop is, which always carries a lot of bats
somewhat
its a temporary spot usually
From the looks of it, those three riverbanks mensions far west of West Point seem like god tier bases
you can get rid of furniture to make it less cramped but its up to you
(there's also guaranteed antique oven spawn nearby as well)
the only downside to the location i picked is it's cramped interior, which is unfortunate
but the upsides is that it's mid town next to the big road that connects everything, perfectly centralized
if you're looking for something more humane than packing in 50000 items on the floor and in small boxes though then thats a tough one
As a base for the time being during the earlier days? Probably not
But for the endgame and for a place you can always call home, amazing.
its hard to claim a base that's perfect for both early and lategame because the general focus shifts away from your starting town in the first place
the only thing i can suggest is westpoint since it has some beautiful second floor bases
I like the shophouses
this spot in particular has stairs that give an easy exit to the back of the building
Specifically the Food Market/Hardware shop apartments
Amazing place (for the time being at least), relatively easy to secure and get yourself situated there
but yeah bases have strengths and weaknesses generally, its hard to find the perfect base for the entire game by foot
you may just have to settle for a temporary base and then get a car to move to a more permanent spot
like uhh
Yeah there's no single perfect base from July 9th to late game
hold on, let me get a thing
(maybe Rosewood FD though)
Yeah I can safely agree with this tbh
In every one of my games with long survival, I end up leaving my starting town to settle in a desired permanent base
actually
im kinda thinking
west point hardware store
second floor can be farmland
all the amenities are in the second floor
until i can secure the first floor
i can just live in the second floor
looks great
lots of crates too for early storage
would definitely want to get some shelves
gotta set my zombie respawn time to a week though if i wanna live in west point
never been there as im quite new to the game
This is the general store, not the hardware store
From what you're describing, this is the place
what the
westpoint is pretty rough for a start
Its not a hardware shop lol
like westpoint is uhh...
map project lies
This is the actual hardware shop
well its far away from the surplus store and the rosewood lab and it has high zed count
weapons arent as easily gotten there from what i can tell
you can hit up the school and go for the bats in the gym maybe
Much closer to Louisville border camp where you can easily access the loot. The problem is actually taking the loot home
West Point is also the town if you want to get into shooting, thanks to that gun shop
i might go for some short blunt so i can get a storage container on my secondary
you know what's very strange is riverside
riverside seems like a rather bad place to start for shooting, but the thing that makes it good is it's gated community
not really a lot of tall fences to jump over so i can just carry a bag on my secondary
which is massive
Hit up the hardware shop, self storage, and factory
You'll have a many weapons (usually blunts) from there
And also, just check tool sheds and garages for tools and weapons
those are located towards the more population dense areas, hence me saying not as easily gotten
i kinda wanted to base in the riverside ice cream parlor but then i saw the windows
goodness
im using the map project site to look for base candidates
These places are in a bit more mellow part of West Point
but the riverside gated community will have way more shotgun shell boxes than is reasonable
Seems like an assembly hall or something
from what i remember they're placed inconveniently on the other side of town which is against the typical spawn areas, that being on the left side with the residential clumps
less activity, but a lot more annoying to get to
no variety in the chairs and table shop
riverside's gated community is extremely.. good
my unturned experiences tells me that the bank has AKs and katanas
westpoint's second floors are also good, just with some added challenge
but pz definitely says no
Yeah usually I do mad dash to the right side of town
They're also why the motel spawn is really good
like i grab hunter and typically get about level 7 aiming before arriving at westpoint
for my endgame base
i kinda dont like basing in a house
but what's your opinion on the riverside police station as a base?
Small and would need some work
kinda far from a lot of the stores
I base in a house cuz there's a kitchen, fridge, and good quality bed all ready to be used
i think the west point general store is better for me
but then again
it's west point
its farther away from the general POI clump that makes riverside very effective
its connected to the main road and wouldn't take too much work to get to, on top of being near a gas station (meaning you can just get some random bottle and get it full of gas to make grabbing a car far easier)
the benefit of all of this is you're settling in riverside, you'll be near the sports store and you have a decent range from the military surplus store, which is also next to another gun store a little to the left of it
i think if you took a hammer to destroying some furniture and take the time to move a bed in there, it can be good
I've slept in one of the self storage units and factory cafeteria before during my very first days after beginning lol
Sleeping on couches is not the best though
gonna get some more mods then try out a run in west point
There’s a gun shop in West Point?
Valley Station is usually considered like an annoying transition zone between West Point and Louisville
think you can manage it?
Its a mostly rural place but has tons of zombies
well it's not exactly a spawn point
above the twiggys, you need a sledge hammer
Yeah but its completely closed in by shutters, so need a sledgehammer
the art gallery looks like it'd make for a great multiplayer base in louisville
Where’s it at on the map
I know there’s a sledge in a survivors house
I’ll carry one around
Yeah very northeast of West Point
Damn I wasn’t aware of that area existing lol
Definitely one of the mellower parts of town
I’ve been focusing on clearing out the housing areas of West Point and haven’t focused on Main Street
aight guys
talking about peak base locations
velvet tassle or glo?
both are clubs in luis ville
I have very little experience in Louisville, but I can safely say the waterfront mansions are god tier
Should I set up a small safe house in west point for a early louisville loot stache
and once I get deeper into louisville I set up a base there
Speaking of that I need to steal the military lockers from the border camp, I realized it needed crowbars when I forgot to bring one...
My guns and ammo are all lying on the floor at the moment
make sure to use a blunt weapon if you want the clothes XD
oh i never use sharp
Yeah I seen that on the Zomboid Map Project
But I can't say anything about the LV northern waterfront yet, only the western waterfront
Waterfront mansions are very good bases though I can safely say
Good luck
yeah i kinda need to get tot he west point general store since i plan to base there
top left of the main street
keep going left and youll reach the high school
i have two bags, i dont think i need to go to the high school
can definitely replace my bread knife
but i definitely wanna use a short blunt
literally this
actually that is so true
this is so real
Black building is Car Fixation
Pink building is Pharmahug
Blue building is Town Hall
Similar sized warehouse in riverside too
West of riverside, probably has every single item you'd need to build and secure the base too
Many many crates full of tools, construction equipment, weapons too. Possibly sledgehammers
@delicate marten
hmm
I'll have to take a better look at that
cause i did see the slaughterhouse just a bit farther away
just looked at it, kind of not a fan
but
i do like the autorepair in front of it
The large warehouse in Muldraugh is a classic favorite for a lot of players. Also, it's near enough to a lake you can fish in
it also roughly fits the size you're looking for
okay you know what
gotta add another condition
anywhere but muldraugh
can be in fucking march ridge just not muldraugh
Nuke muldraugh
There is a line of mansions in west Louisville, one of them has a massive garage. It is fully fenced off save for the gate and two small holes near the river and has a house about the size you want and a parking garage for vehicles
i believe you're looking for this
just add front gate and wall on back yard all way to water. then your backyard is prefect safe for starting farm like i did
there's more screenshot in my showcase 'sean's base in louisville
it comes with a house so it's ew
i don't like basing in houses
without breaking down walls
it's cramped
with weird corners too
if you break down walls, it just looks weird
and in two storey houses, it ends up being a bit too big
i usually dont like house but it grow on me
