sry i think i explained it poorly so before i had the mod I would get an error message and i had to quit the game. after i downloaded the mod i didnt get the error message but my game would not load the map chunks which would prevent me from playing the game

What is your ping to this server that you are trying to join?

but i know others have been able to join
but this is applying to all servers that i try to join
i think one of the servers ping was 140 ish

That shouldnt be too bad, you might want to check the performance on that one with and without the mod
You can also try using the Use Steam Relay option when connecting
It can help in certain situations

well its hard to check performace because i cant actually see the ping
the only way i can estimate is because my friend bought the server and he told me where he was hosting from which also gave the estimate ping that i would get from my location
